Cheongdam Jaya @ IOI City Mall

Sometime last month, the team had a dinner get-together treat by the team leader.
We chose to have Korean BBQ buffet at a halal restaurant.
This was a meaty meal with unlimited refill of various meats.
The BBQ unlimited set came with 5 banchans, rice, soup and lettuces. All are refillable. Sadly, drinks/tea are not included.
They have beef, lamb, duck, chicken meats.
Reached there around 6:30pm, on one fine Wednesday. The restaurant was still vacant with only a few tables occupied.
Some minor mishaps happened before we started our meal...firstly it was a blackout, for around 1-2 minutes...not sure if it was due to electricity tripped.
When the electricity was restored, we power 'on' the stove and there was a fire spark. We jumped out of shock, thinking that it gonna explode😂
Nevertheless, no one was hurt and it was just some malfunction due to the water/moist on the burner plug. We managed to switch to another table and continue with our feast.
[Below] The banchans....
The meats were all placed on one huge platter which are refillable upon request. We can choose which meat to refill.
The kimchi soup has only plain kimchi with enoki mushroom, it has no other ingredients apart from that.
Lastly we got free dessert due to the earlier mishaps, and we were being compensated with Korean waffles, topped with cream and marshmallow. It was delicious!
Overall a hearty & meaty meal. Food was great, but i couldn't consume so much meat.
The price is roughly RM80 per pax (with taxes & service charges)

Ichiban Ramen @ IOI City Mall

This is my second visit to Ichiban Ramen.
I still remember my first visit which happened to be a day before the pandemic lockdown in year 2020, with a different group of colleagues. That time, we return to the office to pack our belongings, PC monitor and even office chair to prepare for our WFH (during the long lockdown). It was a nostalgic 'farewell lunch' to bid our last day of dining together (after then dine-in is not allowed).
This time I ordered the same chicken ramen, as we dined in a much jolly environment, with a group of new colleagues that just joined not long ago.
We each had set lunch which comes with drinks and a side dish.
I choose gyoza as my side dish. This meal costs only RM19.90 nett. Service was quick too.
It is a halal establishment, hence only have chicken ramen.
Anyway, I will definitely come back again for its value-for-money lunch set.

Meanwhile, passing by Seoul Garden at the new wing of IOI City mall....
just snapped a picture of the price for record purpose.
I prefer their weekday dinner buffet which priced at RM63++ for a 2-hours bbq and hotpot buffet!
But first, i need to find a 'kaki' who can enjoy such buffet...The one who came with me last time stays quite far and inconvenience for her (to travel here).

Below is the neighbourhood basketball court, which is brightly lit till midnite. This basketball court is located right next to the kids playground. It looks serene when nobody around.

The following day...

The following day....I had my breakfast next to the indoor theme park.
Enjoying my chicken burger & fries
while watching people screaming their lungs out at the nearby theme park😂
After then....walk around the mall....the Christmas tree was still around then....while some other parts of the SkyAvenue complex have CNY decors, what a transition!
Meanwhile, my lunch at the food court....prawn noodles!
Fully loaded with prawns, pork slices, fishcakes, hard boiled egg and green leafy. Unfortunately it tastes bland....like clear soup noodles😕
As for dinner, I had stewed pork rib rice at Fortune Corner restaurant.
~~~~~~~~~~
The next day (Day 3), I had brunch at the same place.
Herbal chicken rice.
And tapao-ed the roasted pork rice from 'Cha chaan teng' restaurant located at Genting Grand complex.
BON APPETIT!
Free Meals and Free Show
This was during end of last year while clearing my remaining annual leaves. Since i m not into travelling overseas yet, a short local trip will do.
On my recent trip to Genting, i fully enjoyed the freebies to the max....
Apart from free room (given to members on certain months), I also had free meals and free show to watch (no, not that kind of show😂)
Anyway, just posting up the pictures here for remembrance....
I had chicken rice (with whole chicken leg) at Fortune Corner restaurant....yes, it was claimed by points, not a single cent being spent.
Free flow Chinese tea/plain water is provided with the meal.
The yellow thingy on my plate are pineapple cubes (to my surprise).
~~~~~~~
My main purpose of making a trip up there is to renew my membership card.
Upon card renewal, i was given a free ticket to a one-hour variety show, which starts at 8pm.
Highlights of the show include dances
Some sort of musical/theatrical dance. The performers are all foreigners. I believe they rotate their performers with Genting Cruise that sailed thru SG - KL - PN or perhaps with their other casino chains worldwide.
Even the singers have superb vocals.
Some acrobatic performances...
where the acrobats are from China
and some Latin dances by the Latinos...
Such an interesting variety show by international performers...I haven't watch such variety show 'live' for quite some time (ever since lockdown).
~~~~~~~
At nite, I had supper/late dinner at the food court.
Ordering was done thru the kiosk, bought a Cantonese style yee mee with 5 points.
Delicious warm noodles on a cold nite.
Nak Nak @ IOI City Mall, Putrajaya
Continuing with my food 'exploration' at the new wing of IOI City Mall....
This time i tried out Nak Nak fastfood restaurant, which specializes in Korean fried chicken.
I believe it is a local franchise restaurant. In case you are wondering why the name 'Nak Nak', here's the description taken from their website:
Nak ë‚™ simply means JOY in Korean. “NAK NAK”, resembles the sound of someone knocking on the door, and also means “we want” in Malay.
Ordering is done thru the counter or at kiosk. As this was my first time, i prefer some human-interaction, hence i did my ordering at the counter.
I ordered a combo meal, which consists of boneless chicken thigh (in chicken popcorn shape), beef bulgogi with cheese fries and a refillable drink.
Was given a beeper to collect my food.
5 minutes later, I collected my food from the side counter.
An empty metal cup was provided, customer can choose any drink from the drink counter and it's free-flow.
There goes my meal. The generous portion of fries with bulgogi and cheese toppings is so filling!
The soy garlic chicken thigh tastes good too. I would like to try gochujang chicken in my next visit.
The restaurant occupies 2 huge lots, it is spacious and has plenty seating space.
Apart from Korean fried chicken & fries, they also sells burgers, cookies and bingsu.
Bai Wei Mini Bowl @ Puchong Jaya
Went to try out this so-called 'fast-food chain' which sells Chinese dishes. The concept is like 'chapfan' (mixed rice) stall but the dishes are served in bowls (with fixed price per portion).
They have set lunch with affordable price, which comes with rice, drinks and soup. The soup is placed at the self-service counter.
Ordering is done through the counter. Just need to pick the dishes that we want and proceed to the counter. Me and my colleague decided to go for ala-carte (instead of the set meal), so we choose the dishes and shared between us. The dishes are slightly different from our local 'chapfan' as these are sort of China-style dishes. We had stir-fried chicken cubes, beef slices in dried chilies, sauteed cabbage and stir-fried Julien cut potatoes (can't remember the exact name of those dishes but most are simple dishes). The 'beef slices in dried chilies' dish tastes like mala.
We had a bowl of rice each to go with the dishes. Customer can choose to omit the rice and will not be charged for that (if opted for ala-carte). As for the drinks, they have various herbal drinks to choose from. The drinks are pre-packed in sealed cups and taken out from the fridge (if opted for cold ones).
My first time of having 'China-style' dishes in a fast-food concept setting. This outlet opens 24 hours daily!
The entire meal for 2 with rice, drinks and free-flow soup costs RM40 nett.
Thumbs up for such fast-food concept, cleanliness and ambience.
As for the food, despite the dishes being placed in a steamer counter with close lid (which is much better than the 'chapfan' dishes which are being exposed), I still prefer the dishes to be freshly cooked and served warm, as the heat goes off quite fast in an air-cond environment.
Tastewise, i personally prefer our local 'chapfan' dishes flavor.
~~~~~~~
Meanwhile, below are some pictures taken (as remembrance) for the cheapo 'Foodpanda deliveries' sometime ago (last year).
These roasted chicken drumstick rice & roasted pork rice which cost only RM11nett inclusive of delivery....such a great bargain!
Pasembor rojak, 3 packs for only RM13.50nett.
*we added own cucumbers and onions for more crunch.
'Chapfan' rice from Fatty Mixed Rice, RM11nett for 2 packs below.
Each pack consists of a veggie dish, meat dish and an omelette/tofu.
We had one with steamed minced pork, omelette and stir-fried greens.
and another with lemon chicken, tofu and stir-fried greens.
BON APPETIT!

Dinner with Ex-Colleague at De Centrum Mall

Impromptu dinner date with an ex-colleague who has recently left the company, to catch-up with some gossips/updates about her.
Went to this not-so-well-known 'mall' nearby the office. It was my first time, despite this mall has been around for quite some time.
there is a few eateries in here....one of them sells tandoori and naan.
So we settled for garlic naan and tandoori chicken.
Paired with my favorite bandung syrup drink.
Freshly grilled tandoori chicken, tastes OK. Good to have these once in a while.
~~~~~~
Meanwhile, on another day, i had family dine-out again at Tasty Wok restaurant.
First time ordered their 'Thai-style chicken chop' dish. Tangy yet slightly spicy.
Quite appetizing and will order this again. Good to go with rice.
~~~~~~
Recently there is a new 'toy' in the office.
The management must have noticed that most of our staffs have put on weight, hence ordered a few units of 'workout bike', where we can workout and 'work' at the same time. It has a mini desk to place our laptop in front.
I have yet to try this...Not sure if i m goin to try it or not.

Dayeh Noodles

Went to try out this beef noodles shop, located opposite the parking lot where the weekly pasar malam (night market) is located. The shop is...
