Pepper Lunch Beef Pepper Rice

I was wondering what to eat the other day when we went to Food Junction for a quick lunch.
My colleague recommended Pepper Lunch and I followed.
They were having this promotion on beef pepper rice at RM13++ (can't remember) and since my colleague has a discount card, we managed to get more discount on it.
Tastewise so-so, the pepper and whole lotsa msg pepper on the rice & beef wasn't spicy at all. The portion, however was not sufficient for the hungry me.
Anyhow, this isn't my type of meal as I prefer gravy on rice and cooked food (rather than waiting for the beef to sizzled and let it cool down before consuming).

Gaga Western & Eastern Corner

Kinda busy lately with tight work schedule and a comin' exam. Anyhow, it's already mid-week (and I'm still far behind in completing my tasks! gosh?!!)...
But i'm gonna put up a short post here...before my blog becomes dormant...
Here's one late dinner that I had last Saturday. This is Hainanese chicken chop. I've been craving for Hainanese chicken chop and hope that one day I could try out the version in Yut Kee.
The below isn't from any established eatery, but just some neighbourhood western corner that I used to frequent back when I was a teenage skool kid.
this place used to be a stall where u dined under the stars (open air road side lah!) and it quickly became popular around the neighbourhood coz it offers large jar of fruit juices and patrons can enjoy sipping them while havin' long chats under the stars. Definitely a place for 'young dating couples' back then. But nowadays, couples dun date at such cheapo place anymore (inhaling roadside dust & nearby longkang summore!).
Somehow this establishment has upgraded to a shop since 2 years ago. It is still run by the family and the son has took over the kitchen. Food prices have gone up too, but still is as popular and crowded on weekends evening.
Bon Appetit!

Monday Entertainment - Jazz (Autumn leaves)

The talented street performers...Somehow, I enjoyed jazzy tunes in open-air compound rather than in the orchestra hall. This video shows the charm of European street where u gotta enjoy nice soothing music, people watching and whole lotsa gothic style buildings...all in one package! This scene was captured in Italy when an impromptu Korean tourist offered to become the bassist. Enjoy!

Breakfast @ Hard Rock Hotel

My breakfast in Hard Rock hotel was kinda lavish with many choices of eastern & western dishes. They have cereals, English breakfast, toasts, various pastries and warm cooked dishes. Seriously, I was spoilt for choice as everything seems so good.
The ambience was nice too, with cool sea breeze in the morning and surrounded by lush greeneries from their garden. The cafeteria looks bright and spacious too!
It is indeed spacious and can easily accommodate hundreds with indoor and al-fresco seating.
i wish I could sit there for hours enjoying a cuppa while reading a good book, unfortunately we gotta move-on, to continue with our activities of touring the island.
nevertheless we still managed to spend our mornings enjoying our breakfast and early morning gossips!
Here's my choice, plain congee with some garnishing
freshly fried omelette
and on different days, I opted for some warm cooked dishes. There it goes...
yea, they have plenty of bacons, hams and sausages, u can construct ur own English breakfast as u like, but I usually opted for the unusual combinations which explains the above.

Seaside Dining

After an almost 3 hours flight, we touched down Ngurah Rai airport in the late afternoon. After done with the check-out and briefing, we were immediately whisked to the Jimbaran area. Traffic could be bad in Bali at certain hours, hence instead of dropping us off in the hotel (in Kuta), we went straight to Jimbaran to gather with the rest of my colleague (who arrived from the earlier flight).
Here's one iconic statue in the town area - some warriors with horses, dunno from which 'Hikayat'.
we were kinda early when reaching our dinner place. Dinner was scheduled at 6pm plus. We were there by 5 something. Nevertheless, everyone was excited with the beach and start clicking away.
why not? with clear blue skies and beautiful beach setting, everyone wants to get a nice 'memorable' shot.
here's our table
it was a seaside dining, enjoyin the sunset while feasting on our barbequed seafood platter
sounds too good to be true hor? unfortunately, the skies turn dark & cloudy within minutes.
thankfully it did not rain, but we dun get to enjoy a superb view. Food was so-so, despite being hungry from the lousy flight lunch, I did not managed to finish off this platter coz the seafood wasn't cleaned thoroughly...
luckily we stayed at tourist area where there are lots of convenient stores to grab some snacks for our supper ;-)

If a stranger asking you.....

I tink some of u might have already seen & heard of this cutest gal on the net - Yebin. Some time ago she was featured in a video where her mom tried to 'train' her on not to be easily gets lured by strangers' treat.

She learned fast, and soon enuff she begin teaching her mom the same.

Well, perhaps it doesn't apply now, but mayb 50 years later when her mom is 'old' and senile, telling her mom not to follow stranger would helps.

Hard Rock Hotel, Bali

This trip was half year ago...I recently unloaded the trip photos from my phone cam, hence only to start bloggin' about the trip now ;-)
From the title itself, you'l know tht I stayed at the infamous Hard Rock Hotel.
If you remember some incident that happened there more than a decade ago, you'll discovered that the blasting took place in this very hotel.
But well, the most dangerous place is the safest place in the island now. With strict security measures, all visitors are being scanned before entering the premise.
There is a walkway about 200-300m from the entrance to the main building. You'll be greeted with a stage upon entering the building. This stage is kinda happening every nite coz there's daily band performances which started from early evening till midnite.
not much patrons when the nite is early. My colleagues hang around with our boss there every nite...nope, I did not join coz I prefer takin' nite stroll along the beach than sitting there being 'blasted' by loud music.
the corridor was well lit up, though some corners could be quite dark.
These 'electronic guitars' is their iconic structure located at the front entrance with many visitors taking picture with it.

Loots from Spain

These are the pics taken by the annoyin' sis when she visited Spain last month. Looking at those sceneries, despite being sunny, the weather was nice with cooling and windy air...*Just my perfect kinda weather. And nothing beats the beauty of European streets...wide & clean (*but deserted? coz I see minimal vehicles on the road!). Not to mention the gothic buildings and churches that are ever so fascinating!
ok, enuff with the praises...I shall leave this with the 'tour agent' or some people who went there to brag about it...LOL!
let's see what she has got back for me....
yea, mainly edible stuffs! my usual request for someone who wants to buy me souvenirs - only LOCAL snacks accepted! so, she got me localized flavour Ruffles, Pringles, chocs, red wine, fruits jams, pastries, and chorizo!
These magnets are not for me...those are for her colleagues, but I dun mind having them if they are edible...muahahah!
I m a hopeless junkie m.o.n.s.t.e.r!!!

Kopitiam Noodles

Some time ago, my colleague frequently brought us to try out a number of eatery places around the office...(*I just joined the company that time)
While some were good, a few weren't that nice...
here are the nicer ones
Fried 'Hor Fun' (Flat Rice Noodle) with add-on Sunny Side-up Egg (RM 7)
'Man Yee Mein' (what's the translation in English??) (RM 7)
Dry thin-cut 'Pan Mee' (flat flour noodle) (RM 5.50)
all these kopitiam noodles are priced reasonably *by 'KL standard' yet delicious (despite the messy presentation)!

T.G.I.F.

hangin' around in the office when everyone has left is part of the fun on Fri evening!
there's no better place to 'lepak' than in the o.f.f.i.c.e itself!
While everyone rush back home (and ended up stuck in traffic jam)...i kinda find solace in the quiet office with cool air (from the aircond of course!) and some instant food from the office pantry.
woooohooooo!!!
But I really enjoy savaging food from the pantry...which sometimes I could find treasures....such as the leftover cakes and ice-cream in the fridge...yummmzzzz!!!
and here's my typical dinner on a quiet Friday evening...complete with fruits (courtesy from the office pantry)
nope, I'm not watching movie...I m seriously working....
I luv my job...
I luv my job...
I luv my job...
I m the 'best employee' of the year....

Old Nanyang Kopitiam, Bukit Jalil

Few months back, went to Old Nanyang Kopitiam for our weekend family dinner. The shop has since closed down and renamed to New Nanyang. *The...
