Bangkok Thailand, Day 2 - Food Log

Continuation of the previous post
Getting food is not an issue in BKK as there are a variety of choices and food stalls are common.
Right outside of the hotel, we can easily bumped into a few street peddlers selling fruits, finger food and local snacks...and along the walkway, it is common to see shops like these...
 selling big fat chickens! lolx
Anyway, we had our Day 2 lunch at Chatuchak market. It was a corner stall but crowded with tourists.
We had Thai Green Curry - it was superbly good and 'phenomenal'....the distinct taste that I could hardly get in M'sia, even in established Thai restaurant. Packed with spice and aromatic basil, the gravy was creamy and goes well with rice...
We also tried the minced pork basil rice...which has lotsa cili-padi!
pad-thai....not bad too...
food was excellent as we dun expect much from this tiny stall....Perhaps it is one of the hidden gem in Chatuchak which keeps the foreigners coming.
We then adjourned for the dessert at Coco JJ stall
and had our fav coconut ice-cream
it was a  hot and sunny day, hence got a bottled of orange juice (fake or not, I dunno!)
then we had more snacks, such as this grilled/bbq pork (moo ping)
the price is based on grams (min 100 gram)
we tried a piece at THB50. It taste like the Chinese bbq dried meat, but the texture is more like pork chop, meaty and succulent.
there are plenty of stalls selling fried stuffs too, but we did not try...
by evening we went to the Esplanade Mall at Ratchadaphisek for dinner.
Bought this mango sticky rice at one of the stalls behind this mall
then had our seafood spread
and stopped by Tops Market (a supermart) to buy more snacks.
While hanging around there, I saw this interesting Ad in KFC.
Yes, the egg tarts!!!
I took a wild guess on what was written there...
sort of 'Buy 3 free 1' for only THB66, which is a deal, considering that KFC egg tarts are quite nice!
so I went in to 'tapao' them for supper/breakfast-the-next-day
yea, it was sooooooo good (live up to its slogan!)
BON APPETIT!
