Yu Xiang Yuan @ Kuchai Lama

A friend is treating me dinner this time. This would be my 3rd dine out after MCO (or 2nd during RMCO).
We went to a Chinese Sichuan restaurant in Kuchai Entrepreneur Park on a Friday evening after finished working (from home).
Not many people when we reached, around 7:20pm.
The cutleries are sanitised and wrapped.
It was first time of me dining there so my friend did the ordering.
The menu all in Chinese...
and the staffs are from China, speaking very accented Mandarin
 We had:
Stir fried cabbage with bacon and dried chilies
Stir fried mutton with dried chilies
 and spicy fish....
look at the amount of oil and dried chilies they dumped into that tray....so scary~~~
there are some lotus roots, cucumbers, brinjals in this dish apart from a handful of dried chilies
this dish itself costs RM58!
tastewise, I m not acquired to the taste of Sichuan dishes with lotsa chilies and oil....but anyhow good to try for a first timer.
Most dishes are spicy and it is one dimensional, as my tongue feels numb and couldn't taste anything except spiciness after awhile.
Total cost for all the above with drinks and a bowl of rice: RM151
The shop is located in Jalan Kuchai Maju 6 (with red façade from the picture below taken from Google Map)....there are plenty of similar Sichuan/Hunan restaurants around the area.
anyway, my generous friend paid the bill...no damage to my pocket...but my stomach is on fire~~~

There used to be one restaurant like this at Damansara Uptown. It was run by people from China and all the dishes got so much dried chilies until can pengsan LOL! I agree with you that the taste is one dimensional.

Only two of you? So many dishes. Can finish? There are many eateries in that area operated by Da Lu people. I have only tried one or two especially those that serve Shui jiao dumplings. I know Sichuan food is very spicy and oily so I definitely won't try this eatery. Thanks for sharing about this eatery,I will avoid it. Hehehehe.

Mun: yes only 2 of us. We did not finish the fish...too oily. The other 2 dishes despite looking like alot (but mostly are dried chilies), we managed to finish them.

I have tried the oily and spicy dish in Semenyih or somewhere hereby. I too found it too oily but a nice experience tasting the dishes. Ipoh used to have 1 Sichuan restaurant but had since closed.

Nancy Chan: yea, first time trying should be fine. After then, feels like nothing special coz there are other fish dishes that are better than that.

The Shui jiao shop I went in April 2018. The name is hometown dumpling, same row as imperial white coffee, kuchai. https://my.openrice.com/en/klangvalley/r-hometown-dumpling-kuchai-lama-chinese-noodles-r635832
