Foodpanda Delivery - Sushi Yari

[Throwback] Another great deal from evoucher. This was ordered on 30 Sept, 2pm, using the evoucher 'Ordernow' which offered a huge discount of RM12 with minimum order of RM20.
So, i make use of this opportunity to try out a sushi shop in the neighbourhood.
Had a combo set of the following:
all were prepared fresh, definitely better than the ready made sold in supermarkets!
I also had 2 types of rice roll, with crabstick filling and tuna mayo filling.
Overall, not bad, I hope to order this again when there's discount. After discount, all these roughly costs around RM11 inclusive of delivery.
Meanwhile abit of updates on my furry friends....
The big bully cat is no longer seen, and therefore my 2 friends are back!
Glad to see them waiting outside the office entrance on one evening.
Both cats greeted me as usual and appear cordial, but then they looked away when i snap pictures.
Jual mahal!
Here's the white cat (with some black spots) looking timid when i snap pictures of her....
Finally looking at my direction, but with the head tilted down...aduiii!
so, i let them be....and they were happily chasing around each other and an 'invisible' object (which i have no idea coz only both of them were able to see it)😬😮

Cha Chaan Teng @ Genting Grand Hotel

[Throwback, end August 2022] I utilised my earned points to have lunch at Cha Chaan Teng restaurant which is located at Genting Grand hotel.
Nothing fancy, just a plate of roasted pork rice, nevertheless it was good.
My quiet lunch at the eatery. Not many people having lunch here coz this place is secluded from the popular SkyAvenue mall.
As for teatime/supper, i had this....
guess what?
something that is sealed to prevent the odour from leaking out....
yea, u guess it right...
it's durian!
*not musang king, just D24
meanwhile, on another day, my quiet lunch again at the same eatery...
This time i ordered a bbq pork rice (charsiew rice)
a mix of fatty and lean meat, quite good too.
as for teatime/supper, i had durian mochi
I did not eat the mooncake...brought it back home, for the following week (mid-autumn festival)
As for the mochi, the filling is real musang king, so it is creamy, sweet and flavorful. This box of 4 pieces cost RM25, which is claimed using points.
Meanwhile in the casino....there is a great deal for late night owls...RM1 or 1 point for a 'bao' (Chinese bun) or plain congee which is available on every Saturday, Sunday and Monday 3-5am...not bad....at least there is something to fill up the stomach when one is hungry in the wee morning.
nope i did not try....already in my dreamland zzZZzzz....

Night Stroll @ IOI City Mall (new wing)

[Throwback] Another nite stroll after work at IOI City Mall, this time my purpose is to 'explore' the newly opened phase 2 of this mall.
Before that....makan first (at Ah Cheng Laksa)
The curry noodle was not ready when i ordered at the counter, so I was given a number tag so that the waiter will deliver it to my table afterwards.
Noodles delivered...but the waiter did not collect back the tag....
Anyway, the tag shows '10km' and 'Kangkung a district in Kedah'...
Upon Googled, I learned that Kangkung is indeed located in Simpang Ampat, but it is spelled as 'Kangkong'.
~~~
After that, dessert!
Nope, i'm not having Ah Cheng ais kacang this time
but....
yea....Musang King sofuto!
RM4.90 for this one (if not mistaken).
The soft serve on cone was huge, but it was just plain durian taste ice cream...definitely not Musang King.
Well, Musang King is too expensive to be made as a cheapo soft serve, but its glamour name sure lured lotsa customer in trying it!
~~~
After then, jalan jalan at IOI new phase...
Back then, alot of shops & eateries were still under renovation. When fully opened, it would be the largest shopping mall in the country.
Since it has nothing to 'look see' except empty shops...i headed to the outdoor 'park'...
I was fascinated with such colorful display of lights
nice & perfect for Instagram
am sure families with kids would love to take pictures here...
or even youngsters
there are plenty of spots for outdoor 'picnic'.
the lights were still 'ON' until 10:30pm
(below) the facade of the new wing block facing the 'park'.
I believe more shops to open by this month prior to year-end sales.
I will drop by again in December😉

Foodpanda Deliveries (late Sept)

Back in September, Foodpanda was on super cheap promo.
Delivery fees slashed to only RM0.99 for eateries within the neighborhood.
On top of that, there was also an unlimited evoucher code 'Ordernow' which offers up to RM12 deduction on minimum RM20 purchase.
Apart from that, the Foodpanda cloud kitchen has limited time superdeal which offers item up to 70% discount.
We managed to get one of those.
I paid only RM4.70 for this buttermilk chicken rice...inclusive of delivery
it was delicious, on par with restaurant standard...there was light aroma from the curry leaves
~~~~~~
Here are some other orders (on different days):
Top container is from Fatty Mok Hakka Yong Tau Foo,
RM10.60 for 3 pieces of stuffed brinjal, 3 pieces of stuffed bittergourd and 3 pieces of stuffed taupok.
Bottom container is from Canton Kitchen,
RM10 for sweet & sour pork dish
The below chicken drumstick rice is from 'Yuan Taste Roasted Pork/Chicken' stall from the nearby neighbourhood.
After the evoucher deduction, the price of this chicken drumstick rice and one roasted pork rice is only RM10 inclusive of delivery.
It was delivered in the morning, hence the chicken was fresh and succulent. We ordered another round to try out their bbq pork and roasted pork.
Price is RM10 inclusive of delivery for these 2 boxes too.
Note: Documenting this for record purpose only
Dinner at Fortune Corner Restaurant - Part 3
On another day, these are the items that we ordered:
XXL deep fried chicken chop rice. I was very full after finishing this coz the XXL chicken chop is huge!
(Below) Nasi lemak with curry chicken and sambal prawn
It was a flavorful nasi lemak...The sambal was slightly spicy but still bearable.
~~~~~~
Some pictures that were taken around the SkyAvenue mall:
(Below) The dining area used to be Richdad restaurant, but now it is occupied by Five Guys
The menu in Five Guys...quite simple....very similar to 'Johnny Rocket' kinda fast-food place.
IORA has expanded into 2 shoplots...This is my fav shop to get some casual clothing.
Over at the other corner, there is a 4D Trick Art Museum...Yea, there is an entrance fee to get in.
The mall is quite happening these days (despite still lacking foreign tourists, particularly from mainland China & India), but nevertheless the shops are surviving despite some on-and-off lockdown in the past 2 years.

Dinner at Fortune Corner Restaurant - Part 2

The menu rotates daily. On another day we had:
Vinegar pork trotter rice set. We seldom cook this at home, thus a good chance to try this.
I was attracted to the curry mee...after seeing a sample displayed at the stall...
The ingredients look good, so i ordered a bowl.
It has a huge prawn, 2 pieces of chicken, 3 pieces of fishball, a few pieces of fishcakes, beansprout etc...
It was a decent curry noodle...The soup was not spicy at all...and sambal was provided (unlimited) for extra ummpphhh.
this is definitely a Chinese style curry noodle...still OK-lah...
~~~~~
The Skytropolis indoor theme park was crowded during the long weekend...but mostly are local visitors (or from nearby countries such as SG and Indonesia)
This is the first time i'm seeing the indoor theme park being so lively again (after a long lockdown).
There were families with kids enjoying their rides and couples dating as if the COVID19 is not bothering them anymore.
Yea, nowadays people are learning to live with it. Just practice hygiene and be vigilant at all times.
Dinner at Fortune Corner Restaurant
[Throwback] Dinner at Fortune Corner restaurant which is located at the old casino.
Our meals....Chicken leg rice set
and braised pork belly rice set
Thick gravy with a whole hard boiled egg in the braised pork belly dish. It was delicious. Mixed of fatty and lean pork.
The menu rotates daily.
~~~~~~
Another snapshot of the room during the daytime...
and the views from the room window...
left view
The old cable cars are are seen but they are no longer operating.
front view
just hills and clouds...at night, when the visibility is clear, I can see lights from KL city and a nearby town.
right view
the hotel block itself and more hills...
It's so calming to watch the greeneries and sunsets/sunrise.
When i had enuff of the sceneries, i went down to the SkyAvenue mall for some window shopping.
This place (below) serves high tea. I've only dined here once when it was newly opened a few years back.
