Our kind neighbour enjoys preparing various delicacies for their Ramadan breaking fast. They blessed us with kuihs, roti jala, laksa utara, laksam etc...on different days.
Last week we received a big bowl of....
Bubur kacang hijau (mung bean porridge/sweet soup)
It was 'pekat' (creamy) as they put in sago and condensed milk.
We were so full after having this for our tea time!
On another day (unrelated to my neighbours offering) I had steamed chicken drumstick for one of my lunches.
We usually steam it with lotsa cabbages and diced carrots.
BON APPETIT!

Missus bought kacang hijau but so far, she has not cooked it yet. I pun so lazy! LOL!!!
You are blessed to have very good neighbour. I have mostly snobbish people living around me except one who happens to have the same surname and we clicked off well. The Malays have many unique sweet desserts which are new to me.
I cannot eat steamed chicken because of the skin's texture. It has to be fried or roasted till crispy brown.

The mung bean sweet soup must be very rich, lemak and creamy. Can add coconut milk to make it more lemak too. I love steamed chicken like this, drumsticks some more, you eat very well, yums!
I dont add sago and condensed milk in my mung beans. Usually cook it once a week.
