"Some-Company-Dinner"

My sis just had her company dinner at Hilton Hotel, KL. Although it wasn't much related to me, but as she took my digicam for it, i was expecting her to snap alot of nice pictures of those dishes that she had, some fancy spots around the places or some photos of cool dudes. However, much to my disappointment, all i could see (after various times of clicking the preview buttons) are...

Empty bowls, napkins...

Cutleries???!!!
*strange, i guess she like the shiny metal spoon!

and Menus!! where are the food pictures???

And i was expecting her to snap some interesting spots/corner around the places, such as the swimming pools, main lobby...but instead, the only picture she took is the path leading to the pool... *totally FAILED

and she took the picture of the side decoration on the plate instead of the prawns!
*i'm speechless now

fish, but not the edible one

and more fishes...wut for taking their pictures? not edible also...

skool girl? although she failed in her photo shooting skills, she got first runner up for disguising as a skool girl and talent show. She ain't weird, she is my sis!

Arrowhead Crisps

"Ngaku" (arrowhead) crisps is one of the common local snacks during Chinese New Year. As CNY draws near, I will be usually busy in the kitchen helping up my mum to prepare this delicious crisp. As the prices is quite cheap nowadays, we'll usually buy in bulks...
The process is simple, but alot of time and effort has to be spent to get the end product. Thus, we break the process into a few parts, and each of us (in the family) will do our part. First, dad will peel off the skins...Here is it...the peeled arrowheads
Meanwhile I will do the slicing
And these are the sliced ones
Normally, mum will do the frying. We managed to complete with 2 big containers on last Saturday...
A closer shot, the fried crisps abit overheated, due to its golden brown colour...but anyway, it still tastes good!

Farewell Dinner

Boss is leaving soon. To show our appreciation for his service and leadership, the whole team has organized a farewell dinner cum (early) CNY reunion dinner at some Chinese restaurant.
Boss is paying for the dinner, we ‘makan’ only, great idea, rite?
Since he is paying, he brought along his wife and son to join the crowd.
Good food is to be completed with wines. This is our wines for ‘yum seng’ (toast) session.
Well, we had ‘yee sang’ (raw fish salad) in advance!…raw fish, oh yesssss!!!
Then, followed by a typical starter dish, the so-called 4 season platter (??)…ermmm what-is-tis-dish-called ar?

As usual, a must in all Chinese cuisine, we had shark fin soup, a very thick one! One small bowl is enuff to make us full.

And so on…so forth…lazy to take pictures of each dishes…I guess many of us know each of them oredi.
So, we proceed to take picture of boss’s son…wuakaka…lengchai or not?
New boss will be joining on next Monday, ‘kononnya’ from IBM, lady boss summore…arghh…die lar…next time kenot come to office late liao…

Joyride NO MORE...

How often do you go for a joyride? Well, I dun normally do it…
Only on certain occasions - when I have plenty of free time AND petrol tank is full AND the weather is good (which is not too sunny AND is not raining).
When all the conditions are met, I will hit the road like nobody business. It has been almost a year since I last ventured into some foreign places (ok lar, still in M’sia).
Nowadays, my lil’ Liz isn’t as mighty enuff as in few years back. Places which I have conquered from my expedition are mainly around Klang Valley (nothing to be proud of lar!)…and in all occasions, I managed to reach destination and return home safely, since those places are within 100km radius from home…Though, it seems like simple for most of you out there, but getting to some unknown places while traveling on highways could send chills up spine, especially when you are alone driving a lil’car. Anything could happen, in a country where road bullies and mat rempits are rampant…Nowadays, I m being ‘forbade’ from joyride due to many of such (reported and unreported) cases.
Oh, how I miss joyride so much!

NO!!! Don't drag me away!

With the recent abduction of Sharlinie, I couldn’t help but feels sorry for her family. Seems like human never learn from mistake…well, I m not blaming on her parents, but somehow kids shouldn’t be left unattended especially at public. This place isn’t as safe as before, and is even more dangerous when the culprit is still lurking around.

Well, this abduction case got me reminiscent of an incident that happened to me some 20 years ago. Not that I was being abducted, but instead being mistaken for someone else…

When I was a kid, I used to follow my mum for grocery shopping. Normally I stood at one corner like an idiot while waiting for my mum to pick her veggies.

There was once, while I was standing at somewhere nearby a frozen food compartment, a lady suddenly grabbed my little arm and said “boy, come, let’s go!”

I was in a huge shock, as I’m not her ‘boy’. She tried to pull harder without even looking at me!
Meanwhile, I was just too scare coz tis lady is darn fierce and I dun dare to even shout.

She was getting angry but when she turned around, her face turned red when seeing me.
I guess she was ashamed of her mistake. She quickly apologized and then turned away to look for her son.

I felt relieved coz I'm freed! But well, after that incident, I dun dare to stand far from mum. If that lady is a bad fella, I could be easily dragged away without being noticed.
You see, kids are just too easily to be taken away!

Static electricity in Petrol Stations

With the generalisation of self-service facilities in petrol stations people should be warned about the outbreak of fires resulting from static electricity while they are pouring in petrol.
150 cases of this type of fire have been investigated and the results were very surprising.

# Of the 150 cases, more happened to women than men, due to their habit of getting in and out of the vehicle while the petrol is being poured in.

# In the majority of cases the people had re-entered their cars when the hose was still pouring petrol out (the danger of the triggers on the nosepieces). When they finished refuelling and got out to remove the hose pistol the fire began, as a result of the static electricity.

# The majority of those affected used rubber-soled footwear and clothes of synthetic fibres.

# Never use mobile phones when filling up with fuel.

# It is well known that it is the vapour that comes from the petrol that burns and causes the fire.

# In twenty-nine of the cases analysed, the people re-entered their vehicles and later touched the pistols during the petrol fuelling process. This happened in cars of different varieties of makes and models.

# Seventeen fires occurred before, during or immediately after the cap of the petrol tank was removed and before starting to fill up with petrol.

# The static charge often results from when a passenger rubs their clothes against the upholstery of the seats on getting in or out of the vehicle. To avoid this, it is recommendable that NOBODY gets in or out of the vehicle while the petrol is being poured in. Movement in or out should only be done BEFORE starting, or when the fuelling is finished and the petrol cap placed.

# MAXIMISE THE PRECAUTIONS if the petrol has spilt or splashed onto the ground. Highly inflammable vapours are immediately produced which can be ignited by sparks of static electricity from the turning on of electronic equipment (mobile phones, remote controls, etc) or by the ignition of the vehicle itself. BEFORE starting up the engine again, the spilt petrol must be gathered or neutralised by the petrol station staff.

2008 Resolution

It’s getting into the third week of the year, but it’s still not too late to draft out my ‘new year’ resolution. In the previous years, I dun really hav such practice of drafting out New Year resolutions, all I had was short-term, mid-term and long-term goal, spanning from 1 year to 10 years. Perhaps I should just assume it as my short-term goal.

My short term goals new year resolutions are as below:

#Get myself marketable…eh, not ‘selling body’ ler…to do that, firstly need to polish some required skills in my current job.
#To look stunningly beautiful…wuakaka…started b*tching pulak!
#Earn CLP certification (I’m not referring to that law cert…)
#Earn more $$$ --> which I dun tink is applicable for someone who is ‘ta gong chai’. Pay rise so skimpy, how to earn more leh?
#To fly somewhere…
#Working abroad --> in my dream! Despite working in an MNC, I still couldn’t get a chance…Everyone flies except me…sob, sob…
#And well, after getting my professional cert, I'm gonna tender my resignation letter with ‘style’…*wicked laugh

Meanwhile, the below are my mum’s resolutions (specially dedicated for me):

#To be a more sane, un-nerdy person who can speaks like a normal human so that she could communicate with me. I hav a terrible speaking skills that no one in the house could understand my language.
#To dress like her (some 20 years ago). Appearance-wise, I m still like a skool kid who doesn’t know how to dress up well, and still I dun improve much over the years….wuahaha…
#To separate me with my beloved PC…mum thought that I hav an imbalance lifestyle as I m spending too much time with that machine.
#To get a bf (??) --> not necessary as of now, coz I hav a warm family who takes care of me…I m still in my comfort zone, unless mum kicks me out of the house!

Lastly, like any other bloggers out there, I hope to maintain the blog traffic at this site, and meet more enemies frens…

Alrite, thanks for reading my craps!

First and foremost, my apologies for not updating anyting on tis site...
Sad news, i hav lost connection to the internet since last thurs/friday. My PC network card and modem 'kaputt' as a result of being hit by the recent thunderstorm.
Good news is that i m goin to hav a new PC soon....as boss has agreed to get me a new laptop...wuahaha...m looking forward to an IBM thinkpad T series! (*wicked laugh...)
But well, on the other hand, i've to fork out some $$$ to buy a new modem, as it is not covered by the company...sigh!

A lesson to learn - Disconnect any cable from modem/router to phone when not in use.
*tis does not apply to wireless connection

To all the blogger frens out there, sorry for dissappointing you guys/galz...as I wasn't able to follow up on your blog during these recent 'down-time', and unable to reply to your comments and messages...Everything will b back to normal soon...Stay tuned!
