2nd Outing to Genting Highlands

This was my second outing up the hill during RMCO.
Nice weather on a Friday morning (4 Sept)...
The photo below was taken from MRR2 nearby Ampang
within less than half an hour, we've reached the foothill of Genting...
the greenery is so soothing to the eyes.
As usual, it was cooling & misty at the hilltop.
Nice stroll along the top floor open air verandah, not many people as it was a weekday.
The famous Harry Ramsden fish & chips restaurant, which was quite empty too.
Can't enjoy the breathtaking view from atop due to the fog
On a clear day, u'll be able to see the cable car and the outdoor theme park from here
but at least I can get fresh & cooling air
 with some drizzling rain...
meanwhile back to the indoor....it was so 'lively' with colorful lights from LED screens and theme park.
No longer feel excited on such rides. My last roller coaster ride was more than 10 years ago in HK Ocean Park...after then I have 'retired' from taking any thrilling ride....Too scary for yours truly.
so, I can only enjoyed the LED screens...lolx!
well, this outing was unplanned due to a last minute invitation for a free buffet....
stay tuned for more foodie pictures...

Dine Out 16 @ Canton Kitchen, Happy Garden

We had our monthly family eat out on 29 Aug (Saturday).
Went to the same place as our recent one, coz we wanted to try out other dishes
We ordered:
Tofu with minced pork and French bean (RM23)
 Salted egg French bean (RM15)
 Fuyong omelette (RM12)
instead of charsiew, they put in lap cheong (Chinese wax sausage). No prawns seen at all....
 Steamed asam tilapia fish (RM49.50)
 Chinese herb chicken (RM20)
Let's dig in...
Total overall with rice & drinks for 5 pax, inclusive of 5% service charge and 6% service tax is RM148.65
Pleasant dining with ample space for social distancing and the food are not overly seasoned with msg....We don't feel thirsty at all after the meal.
BON APPETIT!

Penang White Curry

When the 'Penang White Curry' instant noodle was firstly introduced, everyone seems crazy about it and wanted to get one to try.
It was RM7 for 4 packets (MyKuali brand).
Hardly available in KL, though finally we managed to get it after a few months.
I seldom see MyKuali brand these days too....but there is another option, which is Ibumie, and is just as good.
Bought this from the neighbourhood AEON Big supermarket after watching some YouTube review....claiming that it is one of the best instant noodles in the world....Somehow reminds me that it has been some time (more than 5 years) since my last 'taste' of Penang White Curry.
A pack of 4 sold at RM5.90 (promotional price)
Here's how it looks like...
There are 3 sachets inside each packet of noodles - the seasonings, sambal paste and creamer (in powder form)
The soup looks creamy and thick, just like what you get in curry noodles sold in stalls/restaurant.
It can simply disguised as 'restaurant level' noodles by adding other ingredients such as taupok, long beans, prawns, cockles and beansprout.
But yours truly prefer it simple with just a soft boiled egg.
After then can still have teatime with crackers and fav peanut butter biscuit.
BON APPETIT!

Dine Out 15 @ Mi Na Rae, Sri Petaling

Was craving for Korean food, hence i made a visit to the neighbourhood Korean restaurant.
It was lunch time and they have the set lunch at reasonable price (below RM20)
I had the beef bulgogi jungsik set which came with rice, 6 banchans and a glass of rice tea.
the sizzling beef bulgogi jungsik....it has been some time since my last Korean meal...
a close-up shot of the banchans (clockwise from top left): potato salad, sauteed bamboo shoots, spicy sauce fishcake, pajeon, sauteed long beans, and kimchi.
Just a simple meal to satisfy my cravings...After this i shall get some Japanese food....lolx!

Went Up the Hill Again...

Went up to Genting again after many months (my last trip was early this year).
It was a Saturday but not many people
Weather was cooling and quite foggy up there
this was taken from the foodcourt
Strolled around SkyAvenue to check out the stores.
Burger & Lobster was still around with people queing (by 1 metre apart)
but the Atrium was empty with no decorations nor makeshift kiosks at all
Coming soon: Wolfgang's Steakhouse. In front of it is the Godiva kiosk selling very pricey ice cream cone at RM25 each.
meanwhile the situation at Skytropolis…
The rides are 'ON' but not crowded as pre-MCO.
Overall the shops are still operating but a few restaurants had closed down (such as Motorino)
I had my meal at the foodcourt:
Char Kuey Teow
and prawn noodles
yummzz!!!

Thursday Entertainment: Singing In The Rain

Have you watch this movie before?
It's rainy day these days, so this song would help brightens up the day.
Melodious tune...one of my fav songs.

Enjoy!

Ho Ho Horlicks!

This was my breakfast in the office few days back - Hup Seng cream crackers!
But found something inconsistent....
Do you notice it?
Below: these Horlicks were kept for so long in the shelf and got expired in April (during nationwide lockdown & the office was closed then).
Nobody seem to be touching these Horlicks anymore, so yours truly helped to clear...
I don't mind drinking expired beverage as long as the taste is not 'off'.
Since many years ago, the Horlicks is famous for its slogan 'Ho Ho Horlicks!'
It even came out with 'chewable malt tablet' which is so nice that I keep on wanting to buy.
Somehow, i didn't see it anywhere these days...

Office B'day Celebration

More signboards around the office area.... Good to learn Spanish by guessing the meaning😂 The office building in the evening. It was sunny ...
