Baumkuchen

I dun usually buy ready-made cake, but this was for my mum b'day...(*sometime ago)
and nope, this was not the main b'day cake...she had got a huge cream-cake from sis for candle blowing...so I got something non-icing for her instead.
well...I tink the ready made baumkuchen does not worth the price...it tasted bland, like eating flour...not gonna buy this anymore.

I have been wanting to try this baumkuchen for a long time but couldn't bring myself to buy it because of its price. Taste like flour? Now I am very curious and want to try it even more. I wonder do they sell just a slice.

I tried it and there is some which are good. Some is too sweet and some tasted bland like you said. I tried one match in HK, quite delicious.

Interesting cake. This is the first time I heard of baumkuchen and to google to find its German origin. I believe you must have tried better ones somewhere else.

Mun: yes, they do sell by slice.

Yee Ling: I tink I pick the wrong flavour :-(

Twilight Man: I first got to know about baumkuchen some 3 years ago when my sis bought one from her trip in Tokyo. That was superb, unlike this one...

I guess this is from the bakery that is all over the news recently. Have you read the news about it?
