Tea Garden - Part 2

It has been almost a year since I last went to Tea Garden. My previous visit didn't give me a good impression about this place due to the lousy & slow service. But ever since I came across it again in Mun's blog, it got me thinking of giving this place a 2nd chance...
There I go...on a fine evening for my early dinner (it was actually lunch + dinner).
Here's my order: Nasi Lemak Beef Rendang and split mung bean soup. I requested for a cup of ice to add into the mung bean soup in case that dessert soup is too sweet.
My verdict: The rice is fragrant of santan (coconut milk) but I prefer the rice from Old Town with a hint of turmeric. The beef rendang is better than Poppo Canteen as it is not on the sweet side. The sambal paste is ok, quite common and not distinct. The 'gem' of this plate of rice is the acar (pickles)...which I hope they can give a more generous portion ;-)
As for the mung bean soup, it reminds me of those that I had during my childhood. Very authentic despite being a simple sweet soup.
There I was seated under this ol' skool lamp @ table no.2
It was a quick meal as the waiting time wasn't long (due to non-peak hour).
My early dinner (cum late lunch) wouldn't complete with this ice-cream sundae from the opposite McD.
Yes, I claimed this for free!
thanks to DigiReward....
slurrrppp!!!!!

Yes, I think the beef rendang is much better than Poppo. Hhhmmm, old town's rice has turmeric taste? Then I must find one day to try it.

Too bad, we missed each other the other day. What a coincidence! Same time same place.

I think the most delicious item in this blog post is the ice cream. I'm getting a bit tired of seeing nasi lemak due to Mun, thank you very little. :P

Mun: yea, old town rice smells good...but that was 2 years back...it has been awhile since I last had their nasi lemak.

RealGunners: I din know that u easily get 'overdosed' by nasi lemak....even by reading/looking at blog pics!

The McD sundae reminded me I had one on Sunday. They are using Hersheys chocolate. So rich and creamy. Yummm
