Wah Yuen Dessert, Sri Petaling

I finally tried Wah Yuen....It opened recently while I was away.
I had beef fried horfun...tastes good when eaten freshπŸ˜‹
Not many people during the weekday.
The counter selling pastries like egg tarts. I have not tried their egg tarts yet.
The menu....for my own reference.
The desserts selection is quite extensive!
~~~~~~~~~~~~
not far from Wah Yuen, there is another new eatery just opened....occupying the corner shop that was previously 'December BKT'
Ayam Gepuk - seems like a trend nowadays...
I don't know what's the craze about ayam gepuk but I prefer nasi ayam kukus or nasi lemak rather than the dry fried chicken. Well, most of the flavor is from the 'sambal' aka pounded chili paste which could be too spicy for my liking.
Let's see how long it will last...
The shop lot next to this Ayam Gepuk finally completed renovation....It sells decorative lamps/lights and some other home furnishing items.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Promo price RM9.90 minced pork patty rice, served with chrysanthemum drink and soup.
This is a newly opened shop located same row as Mr.DIY corner shop in the neighborhood commercial area.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
2 doors away, a waffle shop 'Fluffed' also opened recently....I have yet to try but the menu looks interesting...
All in all, I counted about 7-8 newly opened eateries while I was away.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Despite the new eateries, I prefer going back to the same old same old eateries
Here are the 6 banchans served in the lunch set meal at Midam. They no longer serve fried egg but has replaced it with hard-boiled egg.
I had sundubu jjigae
Halfway digging in, to my surprise they gave a slice of watermelon....
All these with barley tea for only RM22 nett.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Pork-free claypot chicken rice from Ahmad Muzakin.....
I'm not sure if they have obtained a halal certification, but there are lotsa muslim malay dining here nowadays....all thanks to the social media fuss a few years ago.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Rojak stall in Alison coffee shop. Tastes OK. The rojak comes with rempeyek crackers. It has a few potato cubes in the rojak, so it is quite filling.

There was one ayam gepuk place opened at my area some years ago but did not last very long. The food was just ok, rice with fried chicken topped with lotsa hot chili. Not much variety, so not many people go there.

Never tried ayam gepuk before because like u say, it is all about the chili which I definitely won't survive 😭
