I finally went to try ELK Kopitiam.
And for a first timer, must try their signature lum mee. I replaced the default thick noodles with kuey teow noodles.
Until today I still mix up the lor mee with lum mee....
According to the online description:
"Lam Mee is clear broth. Loh mee is thicker broth and sometimes a bit darker."
Somehow this one has dark broth but is called lum mee....This just makes things even more confusing for meπ
The lor mee was delicious and paired well with the roasted pork, which was served separately so the skin stayed crispy. Serving it this way was a great idea, as some people prefer to avoid the pork skin turning soggy after soaking up the gravy.
The bill came to RM24.80 nett after service charge and tax.
On another day, I went there again but for the nasi lemak.
This is close to the Chinese style nasi lemak where the sambal is served separately and it has diced long beans and curry potatoes which are my favorites. I think i will mostly order nasi lemak for my future visits.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
McD Mushroom Chicken Burger set. It tastes just okay—the chicken patty is similar to a McChicken patty, so it doesn’t feel like real chicken meat.
RM12.45 nett with add on one small sundae cone.
I asked my spouse, he says lam mee gravy is darker and loh mee gravy people usually put vinegar into loh mee gravy to eat together. He is the lam mee loh mee expert as he likes to eat them. I don't like sticky sticky gravy and both has sticky sticky gravy broth.
I wonder whether u will like their pork berempah nasi lemak or not. Will u try it next time?
Mcd nowadays I only eat their fish burger π which I find is yummy π€€ better than eating dory fish and chips
McD now has coleslaw & mashed potato. I just tried, taste ok like Kfc standard. Will you try these new items?
Plan to try the pork curry, then after that perhaps pork berempah.
I think the gravy type is more like wat tan hor gravy without the egg. Still ok for me.
Oh, McD has coleslaw and mashed potato now? I wonder if this is also here in Montreal! Thanks for mentioning this in your comment, Nux, I haven't been to McD in quite some time. I will see if it is here as well. I hope you have a great weekend.
When I eat at McDonald's, it is for breakfast, so this is probably why I didn't know about the coleslaw and mashed potato.
My partner took me to eat lum mee on our first date LOL! I didn't like lum mee but didn't say anything. As for lor mee, I like the Terengganu version but not the KL version. They are very different. Long time I never eat McD and the McChicken is my least favorite.
Hey Linda, good to see you again! I think the coleslaw & mashed potato are seasonal items in my country, hence could be different in Canada.
Got Terengganu version? Interesting!
Ok tomorrow I go try if no queue cos even with machines order also got queue. Thanks for informing ππ»
