Greenworld JianPei Hotel, Taipei

Cotton candy up here but down there was raining non-stop.
Nasi lemak with rendang chicken....The triangle yellow thing on the rice is not cheese...it's omelet.
Superbly good. MAS nasi lemak never disappoint😋
Reached Taipei after an almost 5 hours flight.
Bought an EasyCard from the airport (TWD500) and took the MRT to the hotel.
Their local subway/train lines are well established....with clear signboards and covered walkways to connected interlinks.
Took the airport train from Taoyuan Airport Terminal 1 to Taipei Main Station (TWD160), then changed to MRT at Beimen station --> Nanjing Songjiang station. Costs around TWD20 only.
Inside the MRT....bright, clean and spacious.
[Below] From Taipei Main Station walking towards Beimen Station.
Along the way the MRT is underground....this is the 'view' after I exit from Nanjing Songjiang station....The rain has stopped but still drizzling.
It got dark around 5:30pm.
Another short walk about 5 minutes to reach the hotel. Took my sweet time to walk while enjoying the 'view' and browsing thru some restaurants around the area for dinner.
Hotel check-in was breeze...
Got a corner room at 6th floor....quite decent size with a king size bed...
The toilet....
Open the glass door to the shower room and surprised to see a bathtub in it.
yea, a full-size bathtub!
And there's a window next to it.....you can pull down the blind when you're naked😂
Ahhhh....comfy king size bed!!! This can fit 3 person!
There's a mini pantry too...with tea and complimentary bottled drinking water, replenished on daily basis.
The room amenities are quite complete...with hairdryer, safety box, mini fridge, slippers, free wifi, tv with multiple channels (mostly news channels)....
and....
a Japanese-style toilet bowl with seat heater
So comfy with the heated seat....
[Below] The room entrance.
Breakfast is included throughout the stay. 2 coupons per day.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After done with check-in and refreshing myself....went downstair to hunt for food.
The surrounding area has lotsa eateries, convenient stores and malls.
There are a variety of pre-packed food items in 7-11 and Family Mart too.
Such as Taiwanese style rice ball. Quite affordable...only TWD49.
All sorts of rice bowls...salad bowls, pasta, corns, cooked chicken breast, sandwiches...
Some of the menus from the nearby restaurants....just to gauge the price for dine-in option.
Mostly are Japanese-fusion food.
to be continued.....
Roast Duck Rice from 136 Roast Meat Restaurant
The restaurant is located a few doors away from 126 Mixed Rice.
I think 126 and 136 are related.
I had roast duck breast rice.
Promotion with 10% off voucher, that was last year.
[Below] Banana fritter aka 'pisang goreng' and youtiao bought from a stall in Alison kopitiam.
Seldom eat these, just once in a while...
Midam Korean Restaurant - Sundubu Jjigae
The slightly different banchans this time....
Instead of macaroni salad, this time i got mashed potatoes...
Sundubu jjigae looks red but it isn't spicy at all. They provide 1 empty plate, so I can scoop out the ingredients and let them cool down before eating.
I like how they are generous with the kimchi....and they are fresh and crunchy.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Went to XLL Malahotpot again after 2 years.
The first time I went I was shocked with the huge portion that is enough to feed 3 pax....
This time I'm more well prepared....I bought along a container to tapao.
Instead of spicy mala, i opted for the 'least spicy' level and with Tomyum flavor.
Tapao half of it before proceeding to devour the rest....
The next day, I had the tapao ones eaten cold straight out from the fridge...it tastes like Chinese cold dish, which I like.
The bill is RM23 for the vegetarian option, including rice and drink.
*chicken or pork option will be slightly expensive

Warakuya

Went to Warakuya again, this time I tried the salmon sashimi.
It was served in a huge bowl filled with ice and some decorative...
I like the thick cut. This bowl costs RM25.90++
I also had kitsune soba which I have blogged previously.
The total bill came to around RM50 for the soba and salmon sashimi.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Taro mille crepe cake from RT Pastry. RM13.45 nett after tax.
Slight taro taste, not too sweet and pleasant to eat.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Japanese umbrellas decorating the wall outside Mitasu Pinnacle mall. Looks colorful and cheerful.
This restaurant is always full-house on weekend. Good sign coz it means people are doing well and can afford pricey meals😂
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Something new coming up.....
Not really keen on such drinks....just curious only.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Had char kuey tiao and siu mai in Nam Heong. Total bill came to RM28.15 after service charge and tax.
The prawns are not peeled.
Sunny side up egg is given by default....Taste OK with lots of fish cake slices. No cockles which is good (coz I dislike cockles).
Will order this again in the future.
