Breakfast @ Office - "Not-so-Plain" Rice Congee

On certain days, I skipped dinner and went to sleep early. The following day, i'll wake up early and feeling hungry....Usually, i will take a heavy breakfast @ the office cafeteria.
One of those days, i ordered a bowl of warm rice congee...
after added the condiments (salted black dice, pickles, peanuts, crispy fried anchovies, sesame oil, soy sauce)...it is no longer that plain anymore...
The below congee looks as if over-seasoned with sesame oil & soy sauce, but it hasn't stirred yet. It taste superb after stirred evenly.
Nothing beats the satisfaction to have a congee that warms up my stomach on a cold morning!

Congee, heavy meh? I think it is just nice..

congee okay lah, not that heavy for a breakfast.. unless you tell me you are having BKT for breakfast, O-M-G!!!

We very ngam key.. I almost everyday tapao chicken porridge back to my office for breakfast after parking my car one.. Chicken porridge with lots of hamtan, ikan bilis, peanuts and spring onions.. Yummzzz.

RealGunners: congee with lotsa condiments is filling...i feel full after having it. Compared to beverage drink, i consider this as heavy, though it might not 'technically'.

SK: BKT for breakfast?! no-no! cannot digest in the early morning.

Princess Ribbon: mine is jst plain porridge, no chicken or hamtan...But i added in lotsa spring onion, peanuts & ikan bilis, turns out my plain porridge is very flavorful, haha!

Even though after you finished eating the congee you feel full but very fast, you will feel hungry again because congee contains very little rice.

Nice! The last time I ordered congee was maybe a month ago - tapah fish congee for RM 18 while I was in Sibu. I'm not a huge fan of congee.

Oh yeah, I know that feeling, I always eat before I sleep so I don't have low blood sugar when I wake up. It makes you tired and grumpy so dinner is very important! :D
