Book Review: Who Moved My Cheese

Having seen me struggle in coping with the current on-going changes, a kind colleague lends me a book. “Who Moved My Cheese” tells a story about 4 characters, Hem & Haw as the 2 littlepeople and Sniff & Scurry as the 2 mice. All of them were hunting for their so-called “Cheese” which is hidden in the maze. While the 2 mice know how to adapt with changes, the 2 littlepeople were nonetheless different individual and greatly affected by emotion. Haw is the one who is optimistic about life and decided to have the perseverance in hunting for cheese in the maze regardless of what challenges he may face ahead.

There were a few keywords which he wrote on the wall, there are:

Change happen, if you do not change, you can become extinct
What would you do if you weren’t afraid?
Movement in a new direction helps you find new cheese
When you stop being afraid, you feel good!
Imagining yourself enjoying your new cheese leads you to it
Move with the cheese, adapt to change quickly, the quicker you let go of old cheese, the sooner you find new cheese
It is safer to search in the maze, than remain in a cheeseless situation
Old beliefs do not lead you to new cheese
Noticing small changes early helps you adapt to the bigger changes that are to come

And lastly, Enjoy Change! Savour the adventure and enjoy the taste of new cheese!
