Enemigo @ Casco Viejo, Panama

Had a team dinner at a restaurant in Casco Viejo, Panama City’s historic old town. Casco Viejo is quite a touristry spot with bistros & pubs operating in the evening like our Changkat Bkt Bintang. We dined outdoor at the rooftop of an old building.
For starters: Deep fried plantains and shrimp salad for sharing.
The mains: Tenderloin steak medium rare and a baked potato. Paired with mojito.
It was a great meal....The dinner ended past 10pm and i was so sleepy afterwards....
 The next day need to be in the office early for training at 7:30am😅
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This 'wall of gratitude' in the office pantry.....with colorful 'stick-it notes' from every staffs.
If only I could read (w/o a translator tool)....
Some are quite hilarious....like thanking their family, cats...etc.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I pass by this statue every day on my way to work. It is located at the roundabout in Santa Maria. I learned that it was a diplomatic 'gift' from S.Korea (based on an AI search).
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Free lunch in the office, for the training attendees.
2 proteins (chicken & beef) + salads + carb (rice)
Another one....on another day
salmon & chicken breast + salads + potatoes
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
One of the attendees from Cayman Island brought some rum cakes for us.
very subtle rum taste compared to the one I bought in Barbados few years ago.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Back in the apartment: I stay on the 22nd floor....
There is a sauna room in the apartment building.
The view of the neighborhood Costa del Este as seen from the rooftop.
the lift lobby at Planta Baja (aka Ground Floor).
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Bought some frozen empanadas from the nearby supermarket.
The crust is made of corn flour, with minced beef and potatoes filling.
Air-fried for 20 minutes....
This is how it looks like inside.
Empanadas are quite common snacks sold in cafes, stalls and mini-mart warm food counter.....something like our curry puffs (but tastes different la....)
Most common fillings are minced beef, chicken or cheese.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Soymilk....theirs is usually less sweet by default.
The food all look really good. The wall of gratitude is interesting. Ya, it would be nice to read those notes. I wonder did you leave a note too and did you go for a sauna?
Very nice experience to live and work in Panama. Does it plantain taste similar to bananas?
PH: nope for both😅
Mun: it's similar to our pisang tanduk that the malays use for making kerepek pisang.
