Just a simple family dinner in the neighborhood Chinese restaurant. The last time I dined with family was during CNY chor2....so this was sort of a catch-up dinner after returning to the country.
[Below] Steam tilapia fish in soy sauce
Yam basket with 'kung poh' chicken
Romaine lettuce (yau mak) in fuyu sauce
Tofu with minced pork
Total bill for 5 pax: RM176.40 nett
Overall tasty dishes, my favorites are the steamed fish and yam basket😋

Bai Wei Minibowl
Had poached chicken (RM8.90), sambal fried rice (RM4.90) and salted duck egg (RM3)
Total price: RM17.80 (after 6% tax)
Sambal fried rice was abit dry, but oily at the bottom.
Boneless chicken thigh meat is used for the poached chicken in soy sauce.
FOC free-flow soup, which is seaweed egg drop soup. I think the soup changes daily.

Zok Noodles
Tried the pork knuckle noodles from Zok Noodles.
Chewy wantan noodles and generous portion of pork knuckle meat, occupying almost half of the plate😁
The meat falls off the bones easily.
RM20.40 nett

Thong Kee
This kopitiam has various outlets in Klang Valley and even in Bentong (Pahang)
Prices have increased since 1st March.
I was told that they've recently implemented SST starting this month....
Was taken aback when my favourite curry puff is no longer priced at RM2.30 but RM2.45😕
Their Portuguese egg tart is worth a try too but is abit pricey for that small size. I prefer Oriental Kopi with thick egg custard. Anyway, this will do for the time being whenever i crave for Portuguese egg tarts.

Ah, thank you for your food post of eateries in Sri Petaling. I must make a note to eat lunch at Chee Seong. I didn't notice the price increase at Thong Kee. I guess you like the zok pork trotter noodles since you put a smiley face 😁
Won't be eating at Bai wei since I am not eating rice. Thanks again
Was taken aback when my favourite roast meats stall in the neighborhood increases their char siew rice from S$3.80 to S$4.00 within a few days lol!
