Lai Foong Lala Noodles

Went to the city to run errand and had my lunch in the late afternoon after done with my errand.
Saw this lala noodles (with Michelin recommendation stickers) in Jalan Sultan, so went in without much hesitation.
Ordering is done via QR code. Not many customers in this shop but lotsa delivery orders (Grabfood, Foodpanda etc) at the table outside.
It took awhile for my noodles to arrive, somewhere around 20 minutes.
The broth is flavorful with umami taste from lala, wine and also ginger. Something different from the usual noodles that I had, but of course the price is different too....

BookXcess RexKL
My first visit to BookXcess....it is located on the upper floor of the old Rex Cinema in Jalan Sultan. During my schooling days, this old Rex Cinema was still operating though many preferred the much comfortable & newer GSC or TGV. Back then, a student price ticket was only RM2 (or RM3)....It was so darn cheap.
I wonder how many people came here genuinely to buy books?
most of them are here for photo shooting...I even saw a fella with his graduation robe....
Do you still read physical books?
Some books are just so out-of-reach....how to browse?

[Below] A pre-war building standing tall and strong...
A mix of old and modern buildings....I wonder why they don't repaint the facade? It looks so scary and haunted 😐
Merdeka 118 - the world's second tallest building.

The lala noodles sounds tasty and delicious. I thought you are in SG because we have Jalan Sultan and Rex Cinema lol. Yes, I do buy and read physical books still. I love that I can highlight inspiring quotes and sentences when I read them in the book.

There is one Lai Foong Lala Noodles at Uptown but I never visited. When I was a student, I used to go watch movies at Rex Cinema. I remember the queue was very long when Jurassic Park was showing. The BookExcess at The Starling is very quiet. I go there sometimes but bought books only once. Yes, I still prefer physical books.

Shangri-la Hotel, Orchard Road, SG

Posting some pictures of Shangri-la hotel SG. It is located on Orange Grove Road, just off Orchard Road, in a quieter, more residential area...
