SIN-AMS-PTY

SIN-AMS
The flight to Amsterdam departs at 1:40am from Changi airport. Before that, I had my early dinner in KLIA1 Starbucks and supper at Popeye's fastfood in Terminal 3 Changi.
The below meal was served mid-flight...I'm not sure what is this categorized as....late supper perhaps? It was somewhere 4am MY/SG time.
Rice, with chicken, egg, blanched veggies. On the top is salad and brownie (with nuts, if i remember correctly...)
I had red wine and they gave it in entire bottle with a plastic cup. Manage to sleep for 3 hours then woke up somewhere above Kabul (Afghanistan) based on their interactive real time map😅
I went on to scroll to the other continent just to 'refresh' my geography knowledge😂
Now, this is the breakfast....which was served 2 hours before landing.
Nothing fancy....just some pancakes, plain bun, fruits and yogurt.
Had a brief transit in Schiphol airport before the next flight to Panama.
Checked-in the lounge which was pre-booked earlier to get my 2nd breakfast and to refresh myself.
Here's my second breakfast - meatballs, bacons, hashbrown, baked beans, sauteed mushrooms, scrambled eggs and pumpkin soup with croutons. Also took an apple to bring into the plane (it's OK to bring apples into Panama, you won't get penalty).
[Below] The view....
This is the Crown Lounge.
I don't have much time to walk around the airport. After done eating, I headed straight to the boarding gate.

AMS-PTY
Lunch was served somewhere 2 hours after take-off.
I had meatballs again😂
The sides are pickles - quite sourish!
Teatime - lemon cupcake with tea
Nowadays modern plane doesn't have window lid. The shade is controlled by this button. Press the grey button for darker shade.
Mid-flight snack - Sandwich
Another meal, 2 hours before landing....
Pizza, with cold pasta salad and chocolate cake.
It was noon time at the Atlantic ocean....and the plane just entered the Caribbean sea
Taste just so so....Decent meal to fill the stomach. KLM foods are often bland.
Hours later: Already reached but the plane lingered around and then made a U-turn when the landing slot is available.
Touching down...clear blue skies at around 5pm local time (=MY/SG time 6am, +1day)
Checked in hotel. Glad that my suitcase reached safely, not for my colleague whose luggage got re-routed due to change in connecting flight in Paris.
Ah, i needed the washroom so badly....didn't shower for long!
to be continued....

Lao Di Fang

Went up hill during the 2nd day Raya....
No traffic jam as most people has already 'balik kampung'
The decoration in SkyAvenue mall....I prefer the previous year one with 'ketupat' theme. This year is 'wau bulan' (Malay kites) and moon crescent....Looks OK, but ordinary.
There were Malay traditional dances on stage every now-and-then during the 1st & 2nd Raya day, just like last year.
Colorful hanging ornaments.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Went for lunch at Lao Di Fang located in Highlands Hotel. It is a cha chaan teng serving noodles and rice.
I had curry pork ribs noodle....
Overloaded with pork ribs....
Quite nice, I shall order this again next time.
Rapid KL DRT
Tried DRT for the first time. For more info, please see: RKL DRT - MyRapid
Instead of buses which people seldom take and not punctual, DRT is a new way to ferry passenger without wasting fuel as it only picks up when there's demand. Make sure you have a TnG card ready to tap on the reader.
This van has a capacity of 8 pax (estimate). During my short trip from Bukit Jalil LRT station to Sri Petaling, most of the passenger are working adults and students. It stops to let the passenger alight only when they told the driver coz the driver doesn't keep on checking the app. And nope, the van doesn't have a bell button.
[Below] Brunch at Good Morning Cafe, which is actually a makeshift stall at the neighborhood parking lot, nearby Pinnacle mall.
I had rat tail noodles (lou shi fun) with spam, fried egg and minced pork. The soup is provided together with this noodle, it has fuchuk and bok choy.
RM9.80 with spam (RM8 without)
tastes OK coz i like to eat rat tail...i mean the noodles😂
[Below] Lunch at Greenlane Noodles....this is Penang lam mee, but i requested for meehoon + yellow noodles. Taste OK with thick gravy.
RM10.90 for a small plate.
Night Walk @ Marina Bay Sands
Continuation from the walk after heavy meal...
It was a late Thursday evening, hence the city was quiet after the office hours.
I continued to walk from Raffles Quay towards the Marina Bay area.
The last time I've went to Marina Bay was in 2010 when it was just launched. I remembered dining with the company director, managing partners & business partners (from my ex-company) in one of the Chinese restaurants there. I was just a small potato😂
As I have never been to The Shoppes and Apple Store, I plan to make a visit there.
Scenic view along the way.
[Below] The Fullerton Bay Hotel and the alfresco dining area...
Nearby is the iconic Fullerton Hotel which I've been to (for the toilet)😂
Along the bayfront in Marina Bay, there were row of Christmas trees....such a pretty sight!
This is my fav tree...
The entire place was decorated with brightly lit Christmas trees. Each of these has a sponsor with the company name stated on the tree footer.
The Shoppes MBS
Unfortunately, most shops were closed as it was past 10 already.
Apple store, also closed at 10
I must come earlier next time😂
Nevertheless, a nice walk and great sight-seeing
Helix bridge....
There were still people jog at this hour....it was almost 11
One big round, and I reached the opposite side where Merlion is located.
Merlion - I've been here numerous times but the first time during late night where there were no crowd.
The Fullerton Hotel...nope, I don't have to pinjam toilet this time...
Night Walk @ Orchard Road
[Throwback] Time flies, it's already April and I still have some photos to clear from last year trip😂
This was Christmas party in Shangri-la SG back in December. The company rented a function hall and have the hotel caterer arrange the food in this private hall.
Good food, and fun games...
But the games occupied most of the time, hence I don't have much time to savor the food😅
What's on my plate?
Grilled lamb, beef steak, chicken (not in this picture), tiger prawn, corns...
The party finishes at 10, there were still plenty of food left, but I gotta leave coz it was late and I still need to go to Orchard Road.
Here's some of the picture of the hotel's lobby...Looks opulent and 'atas'
The astonishing ceiling decoration.
I walked from Shangri-la (at Orange Grove Road) to Orchard Road which took around 30 minutes....it could be shorter but I wasn't familiar with that area hence relying on the Google map to navigate. While on my way, foreigners approached me on 2 separate occasions asking for direction as well.
I wish I could help but I was just as lost as them😐
Went to Orchard Road coz I want to see the Christmas lights...It was so quiet on a Friday night.
I walked from one end to the other.
Then it was almost 11:30pm. Gotta go....the last train is 11:45 to Harbourfront.
Good that I don't have to buy ezlink card to board the train coz it now accepts Mastercard.
So, I tried with my credit card and voila, the turnstile gate opened!
yay!
 Walked back to the Carlton hotel after alighting MRT at Outram station. It was already midnite then....The lobby was so peaceful and quiet!
Lunches (in Santa Maria office)
