Chillax @ H.O.M.E

It is the Ramadan month and the festive mood is 'ON'...Nope, I dun fast and I dun really celebrate it...but hey, a majority of the people here does, so I m being influenced by that as well! The chillax mode is 'ON' during weekend, so it is either getting some local delicacies from the nearby Ramadan bazaar, or home-cooked food/junkie noodles and some unhealthy snacks in front of the tv...

Office Teatime - Apam Balik

Many years back, I used to have "apam balik" whenever we got back from Pasar Malam. It was kinda cheap back then & my mum never fail to buy them for us. I dislike it coz of its texture, chewy but too filling due to the flour & peanuts...After a few bites, I got bored with the taste & I dun understand why people could eat such thing as snack.
Time passes and I started to slowly 'accept' this snack. I still prefer the crisp version, not this kinda spongy and thick 'apam balik'....
Nowadays, they are quite a number of improvised version, I prefer those with corns and lotsa peanuts. Some stall even have strawberry + choc flavour, cheese, and whatsoever combination that you could think of...
This childhood snack came to my attention again when it was served in the office during the teatime...The office admin bought loads of it from a nearby stall and was still warm.
It was so aromatic (jst fresh out from the stove) and tempted me to grab one to munch!

Uncle Tetsu Cheesecake

Note: This is an outdated post.
Sis bought a Japanese cheesecake to celebrate mother's day as well as her belated b'day.
Previously we used to have Secret Recipe cheesecake and we are all too bored with their range of cheesecake, hence this time we tried out something new - "Uncle Tetsu"!
We considered this as 'new' as we have yet to try it out since being launched...
it's cotton soft & light texture is suitable for someone who dun prefer moist and strong cheesie flavoured cheesecake.
Nope, we dun finished it at one go...but 'save' some in the fridge to be eaten cold, jst like ice cream!

The Chicken Rice Shop

It has been quite some time since I last patronised the "Chicken Rice Shop"...Not that their chicken isn't nice, but I would prefer to have my chicken rice meal at some Chinese stalls that also sells roasted meat...so that I could order a combination of both (greedy me!). Now, back to the story of the "Chicken Rice Shop"...I can't really remember how their chicken tasted, but my last experience wasn't a nice one (slow services and the meal doesn't impress me much). Anyway, everyone deserves a second chance, rite? Thus, this time I decided to drop by to hav their set meal, and ordered their lunch promo which consists of the following items in the pics (lazy type on each of them....a pic worth a thousand words...haha!)
such a huge combo...perfectly fits someone who is famine hungry...
this combo is more like Ipoh beansprout chicken set...and I like their big fat juicy beansprout very mch!
the below is braised beancurd and egg...Normally the Chinese would braised it with some herbs...but for this place that caters to other races, they would hav omit that 'herbs' to suit everyone's taste.
This tasted bland due to the missing ingredient.
The chicken is surprisingly good....they have improved over the time...or perhaps I m not ordering roasted chicken (which previously I dun enjoy eating)
The set is inclusive of drinks (soy bean milk) and soup as well.
Bon Appetit!

Curry Noodles

Weather is crazy these days, it is either too hot (in the afternoon) but rainstorm in the evening and cold at nite, but that doesn't stop me from having a bowl of nice curry noodles (which could make me even sicker!)
this bowl of curry noodles was from a malay stall in Giant Hypermarket foodcourt. Looks good & taste great...perhaps it has been quite some time since I last had one!
BON APPETIT!
