La Boucherie @ Multiplaza, Panama City

On my last day in Panama, my manager asked if I had any plans for dinner before we both flew back to our respective countries the following day.
He then suggested to try out La Boucherie in Multiplaza mall...
I immediately accepted his suggestion coz i've never been to this mall nor the restaurant before.
New thing is always a 'yes' from me😀
He is just as adventurous when it comes to food.
Here's the starter (on the house)....garlic bread with some dippings....tomato salsa and the rest I couldn't remember exactly what...but they are good!
[Below] This is our real starter....garlic shrimp casserole....We both shared this.
For drink, I had purple gin. Refillable plain water was also provided.
My main - tournedos rossini which is a thick cut from the tenderloin served on toasted brioche. I requested the tenderloin to be cooked rare.
[Below] The restaurant interior....
It is an 'atas' restaurant in an 'atas' mall. I think only 3 tables were occupied while we were there...
It is located in the city center, hence you could enjoy the nice city view outside before the skies turn dark.
Overall, a good meal with great ambience👍
Definitely not a cheap meal....well, that's under company expense😆

Nam Heong Chicken, Sri Petaling

When I couldn't decide on what to eat, I will go to this place coz it has sort of everything from rice to noodles, toast and egg tarts...
So far i have tried nasi lemak and nasi ganja.
When i wasn't in the mood for rice, i had Cantonese style yinyong....
It doesn't look appealing, but it tastes OK.
This came with a fried egg which is quite unusual.
On another visit, I had Nam Heong chicken + charsiew combo, served with a bowl of wantons (in soup). Chili dip and ginger sauce is provided by default.
I wish they can be more generous with the meats😝
I prefer the charsiew than chicken coz it is well marinated and has fat layers.
I shall just stick to the charsiew rice next time...
~~~~~~~~~~~~
So, the next visit I just go for the charsiew rice, which also came with a bowl of wantons (in soup) but with only chili dip.
RM16.30 nett, with more charsiews compared to the chicken + charsiew combo.
BrewMaster - Fish & chips
The lunch set promo from 11:30 till 3pm daily. This time I tried out their fish & chips.
It came with 2 pieces of deep-fried battered dory fish.
and with loads of fries and a side of salad by default.
A huge spoonful of asam pedas sambal paste is provided. The sambal paste is spicy. I only tried a little of the sambal and left most of it untouched. I don't think it is necessary coz the asam pedas taste is so overpowering. RM19.50 nett for this huge plate of fish & chips with complimentary mushroom soup & bun.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Subway sub-of-the-day for RM9.95 nett.
I usually had the wrap (instead of bread) so it is an additional 0.75 (RM10.70 nett)
And if you are "rajin" enough to do the online survey, you can earn a free cookie on the next purchase😆

Family Dinner @ Siew Ming, Sri Petaling

Just a simple weekend family dinner....
We're back at Siew Ming (after years of dining at other places)
Ordered our usuals....
Minced pork tofu
Boneless marmite chicken pop
Ginger scallion fish fillet
Stir-fried amaranth greens
Tastewise ok for all dishes...
Total bill is RM157.55 nett for 5 pax....I think it is slightly expensive compared to other 'dai chow' restaurants that we usually go...

Bananabro

Good Morning Kopitiam
Chicken rice (RM7) with de-boned chicken drumstick + beansprouts (RM2)
The stall is open from morning 8am till 2:30pm. Usually sold out before 2.
This satisfies my craving for beansprouts chicken rice....

Greenlane Noodles
Now, I'm back to having prawn mee rather than crappy prawn+lam mee mix😂

Some small alley mamak stall
In between the rows of shophouses where the banks are located, there's one alley with mamak stall operating from morning 7am till 4pm. I saw some nasi lemak bungkus on the table so i tried a packet.
RM2 per pack....just ordinary one with sambal, egg, anchorvies, peanuts....without cucumber. Sambal is very spicy. They also have hardboiled eggs served on each table. RM1 per egg.

Bananabro
It has been a year plus since i last had banana leaf rice....so, it's time to have it again😀
4 types of gravy - chicken curry, fish curry, crab curry and dhal.
The fish curry tastes strongest.
Unlimited refillable rice and default non-meat dishes.
I also ordered an ala-carte chicken varuval, which is quite oily & spicy but bearable.
The default dishes are deep fried snake gourd, cucumber salad and mashed potatoes. Papadam is also unlimited.
This is basically a very $ worth meal if you're hungry and wanted lotsa carbs with unlimited refills.

Secret Recipe
The neighborhood SR has moved for the 3rd time and this time it is located right opposite the Pinnacle mall. It has lunch set, with the cheapest being fried rice for RM18.90++

Thong Kee - Fried Prawn Noodle

Hong Fu Lou
Dim sum at Hong Fu Lou restaurant. Ordered the usuals - Chicken, lap cheong and mushroom rice, Teochew siu mai and shrimp cheung fun. Never gets bored of this.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
C Plus
Had dry pan mee in C Plus cafe in Pinnacle mall.
The noodles are hard, doughy type. It has porkballs, minced pork, romaine lettuces and crispy beancurd sheets. The soup is very salty and chili dip is very spicy. I added a fried egg (ala carte).
Taste OK, just don't drink the soup.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Thong Kee Kopitiam
Fried prawn noodles, but where is the prawn?
Got a few small ones hidden beneath the noodles. Taste mild, nothing special.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Greenlane Noodles
If you want an authentic prawn mee, just head over to Greenlane Noodles.
I went but tried something else - Prawn broth mix with Lam Mee gravy....
Taste OK ler....the lam mee gravy is mild and overpowered by prawn broth.
I also ordered a side dish 'lorbak'....to try out of curiousity.
Also quite ordinary, I can skip both in the future.
Xiguan Wanton Noodles
First time trying Xiguan in Pinnacle mall.
Ordered the 'premium' wanton noodles with charsiew, shrimp wantons and minced pork - coz i want to try everything all at once.
Springy wanton noodles, flavorful minced pork and charsiew meat is not too fatty. The shrimp wantons are huge, almost the size of a spoon. Overall a good one. Quality ingredients, but of course it came with a price!
Can't remember the price but it is almost double the price of those sold in the kopitiam wanton stalls.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
New Japanese restaurant opened at The Store (sharing the same building, but not part of the supermarket), which I yet to try. It specializes in abura soba - which is a soupless ramen dish where noodles are mixed with a sauce, typically a soy sauce-based with toppings.
Kiosks-based-order (like fast-food restaurant), so I browsed the menu from the kiosk. Besides abura soba, it also has light eats such as gyoza and edamame.

Lunches (in Santa Maria office)
