Cheesecake & Azuki Macha

I had this azuki macha dessert (colleague's treat) in Souffle Dessert Café, Puchong after our BBQ dinner. We shared this since we were both full from the earlier meal.

Meanwhile, on another occasion, I bought this cheesecake from RT Pastry shop for RM18.80

It tastes just like NY cheesecake from Secret Recipe, very dense & creamy! It's not a huge cake, about the size of a personal pizza, but this can feed 8 person on a single serving and end up feeling full.

Akashi BBQ, Puchong Jaya

After our Thai Aroi BBQ dinner in December, my colleague suggested that I should try the Akashi BBQ...

So, here we go...

We ordered beef bbq for 2 pax

 and some ala carte pork belly, neck and beef...

it was a meaty and heaty meal but nevertheless it is 'once-in-a-blue-moon' kinda meal.

Pricewise and tastewise very much like Thai Aroi, except that the soup base is different (u dun find tomyam soup in Japanese BBQ...)

This meal costs RM53 inclusive of drinks.

Tappers Cafe @ IOI City Mall

The team leader invited us for a team lunch to celebrate the new year.

 We went to the Tapper's Café @ IOI City

The staffs from my office occupied almost the entire restaurant as not only our team but another team joined too

Here is the Lunch menu

I had salted egg spaghetti with prawns and add on with ice lemon tea (for additional RM2.5)

Tastewise so-so only, it was dry and not much of salted egg...the sprinkled cheese had overpowered the salted egg taste.

On another occasion, I had Hainanese chicken chop, which is also from the Lunch menu.

They gave 2 moderate size chicken chop with boiled potatoes and carrots....

I prefer the potatoes than fries as it is a more healthier option

Birthday Cake for Annoying Sister

As usual, I bought a cake to 'stuff' her annoying mouth.

And I requested for lotsa candles (since she likes to play with fire) - a total of 11 candles (combination of big and small candles altogether)

And yet she said not enuff….

So next time, I would request for 9 big candles and 9 small candles by exaggerating her age as 99...

 And as a present, I gave her this....

not a hamster but a rodent! muahahahaha!

ok, this is not for her...we caught this at the house garden...

But this lil thing is cute, with neat fur, don't u think so?

Nostalgic

This photo was taken in granny's house almost 3 decades ago during CNY (I think!). It is the last photo of us cousins taken with granny before she left us later that year.

Most of us doesn't seem to be smiling in this photo probably b'coz we know that her days are numbered...

Despite suffering in pain, she gave a broad smile for this final photo with us grandkids

She is greatly missed!



Chinese New Year Dinner with Family @ Sri Petaling Seafood Restaurant

We had our CNY dinner at the same place we had our 'Winter Solstice Dinner'.

This time, we ordered lemon chicken

 Plain stir-fried 'yau mak'

 Calamari rings in 'Nestum & oat'

 Teochew style steamed fish

and claypot tofu with assorted veggies

The bill came to RM144 for 5 pax with rice and refillable Chinese tea.

Portion was huge for most dishes although we ordered the medium size. Overall a satisfying meal. The only drawback is that this place is pork-free, so u dun see any lard in the dishes.

The Usual CNY....

CNY is just another ordinary occasion as we dun celebrate it extravagantly.

As usual, the snacking at home in front of the TV...

Unfortunately our main TV spoilt before CNY and we have to watch from the smaller 'spare' TV, which is not syiok at all.

Nevertheless, I 'syiok sendiri' with my fav arrowhead chips, seaweed chips, peanuts and Sarsi....yuuuummmmzzzz when snacking all these together!!!!

 and during Chor-1, the usual 'lousang' with family

 but it is my 3rd round of yeesang, so....

Heavy downpour during the evening of Chor-1 and 2, but it was hot in the daytime. I looked forward to getting back to the office so that I could 'ON' the aircond to the max, while enjoying my quiet time there....

*U must tink i m siao ar!

 Yes, i was so excited to be back in the office on Chor-3, never been so excited to go to work...hahaha!

Coz all bosses not around....I even had my fav Texas chicken for lunch!

*no choice, all eateries were closed.

There were less than 10 people in the office on Chor-3, and it was so 'peaceful'
