Lazy Saturday

Saturday was a lazy day for me, and with the hot weather in Panama (very much like Malaysia weather) I don't feel like goin out at all.
Mr-Nice-Guy texted me that he would order some delivery and asked if i m interested to try.
Of course it is a 'Yes' from me!
He arranged to have it delivered to my doorstep...
And when it says doorstep, it really mean right in front of the door!
I thought of goin down to the lobby to pick up my food, but then the delivery woman came up, with the accompaniment of a kind resident who tag her into the elevator, right up to my floor. Such a great service.
Here's the surprise. I don't know what he ordered, although he mentioned about some local grilled stuffs, but as long as it is edible, then it's fine.
USD16 for this box of grilled meats and cassava. There is also salads tucked inside the box. There are 3 types of sauces provided. I guess those are mint sauces, cheese and tangy lime mayo...sort of...i really have no idea, despite tasting it various times.
The box consists of grilled beef & pork, as well as roasted pork.
It was a great meal. It is meant for 2 pax. Hence i kept half portion for dinner.
~~~~~~
My lazy day in the apartment. This place is so comfy that I don't feel like goin out.
like why trouble myself with the hot weather outside? better stay indoor and keep myself hydrated, although my inner thought kept telling me to go out venture the new place.
The house owner has an exquisite taste in furniture and interior decor😂
Foodpanda Delivery - Laksaamana
[Throwback] This was one of the many Foodpanda deliveries during the promotion via evoucher 'Ordernow', back in October.
I tried a laksa shop - Laksaamana @ Kuchai Lama.
Ordered 2 bowls of asam laksa, and 1 bowl of mixed curry & asam laksa. The price is RM16.50 for all of these inclusive of delivery. So worth it!
The mixed curry with asam laksa came with yellow noodles with half hard-boiled-egg, fishcakes, taugeh, fried shallots, and spring onion.
Meanwhile the asam laksa has the usual basic ingredients (cucumber, pineapple, onion, fish chunks, rice noodles)
The gravy/soup were packed separately.
Here's how the asam laksa looks like after poured with gravy/soup.
Thick, flavorful, sourish and spicy too. I would buy this again when there is promotion.
Meanwhile, more pictures of my furry friends again...
My fav is still the black cat. As much as i admired her silky smooth fur, i also admired its long tail....
One day i did nasty thing to her....
yea, i 'kacau' her by pulling her long tail...but she didn't show any reaction nor angry with me. I guess she doesn't mind (although cats usually dislike their tail being touched).
Then i pull harder😈to see if she reacts...but nope....she's still cool with it. A very patient cat indeed😸
~~~~~~~~~~~
The below is a birthday cake bought by annoying sis for dad's b'day (coz she seldom bakes these days).
Cheese cake with some strawberries and chocolate on top.
decent looking, taste ok-lah...
i wouldn't buy this kind of cake...usually it looks nice and colorful but taste so-so only...
Only good for decorative purpose in b'day party.
~~~~~~~~~~~
Here's my ugly looking nasi campur from a Malay stall nearby the office.
My heavy-meal-combo comprises of fried chicken drumstick, sambal sotong and fried egg....all the fried stuffs, full carbs, and no veggie😋
heck cares if my life gets shorter by eating this...eat first guilt later.
When the room is not ready....
We reached the resort at around 3. Most of my colleagues had reached there earlier and checked-in to their rooms.
Despite arriving after 3, my room was not ready then. A few of us got to wait in the air-conditioned seminar room.
I'm not those type of person who can sit still even in the comfy cooling room, hence went out wandering around and snapped some picturesque sceneries.
Blue skies, green grass, sandy beach and clear blue sea....such a paradise!
more greens....
i was shielding under the verandah while snapping these pictures coz the scorching sun is burning my skin
for some reason (high tide?) they don't allow anyone to swim or walk nearby the beach. See the red flag?
The red flag indicates that it is not safe for swimming. This area is guarded and the guards will tell u off if u attempt to swim😓
the shady verandah with couch, facing the sea...
these wooden houses are the guestrooms
My room was ready some half an hour later...Will blog about it in my next post....
Meanwhile...food first.....
Here's my first dinner in Club Med:
Salmon and tuna sashimi
And all sorts of foods from the buffet counters...
I tend to take deep fried stuffs such as fried fish fingers, burger patties, potato wedges and paired with a mug of beer😆.
Can't imagine the calories!!!
I chose an outdoor seat by the pool coz the indoor was too crowded. Too bad, the pool has closed, else i can get a good view of people swimming in bikinis and trunks...
My colleague got me a plate of foie gras...but is too oily for my liking.
BON APPETIT!
CNY 2021
This is a summary of happenings during this year CNY under the new normal.
Self-entertained/bai nien with myself and had snacks that we bought for CNY...
Here, i finished the whole canister of crabstick crackers...ALONE😀
Then, annoyin' sis brought her home-baked choc chip butter cake for us on CNY eve.
limited edition, since her oven couldn't accommodate a large cake.
she also brought some cookies and a pack of mushroom (the packet on the right) which she bought in Petaling Street.
The price of each cookies/biscuits is labelled on the cover.
Had Zoom bai nien with relatives/cousins locally and abroad on CNY chor-1...The 'meeting' involves 3 generations, some i have not met for years.
On CNY chor-2, i went for solo dine-out at A&W. Parking was easy and FOC since it was a public holiday. I parked right in front of the shop.
Ordered a beef burger set meal for RM10.50 nett. Got a free gift - colour pencils!
Then, for dinner we had Ayamas chicken - black pepper and percik flavour....I prefer the percik one.
some weird decoration at home....this is definately not my job!
and on CNY chor-12, we opened a can of Eu Yan Sang abalone to cook with mushrooms and romaine lettuce....Just a weekday meal, nothing special about this day.
By CNY chor-14 (today), i'm back to the office and manage to lousang with colleague...It was a last-minute plan as we are sort of doing a farewell for a colleague. Will post up pictures in my next post...
Ho Ho Horlicks!
This was my breakfast in the office few days back - Hup Seng cream crackers!
But found something inconsistent....
Do you notice it?
Below: these Horlicks were kept for so long in the shelf and got expired in April (during nationwide lockdown & the office was closed then).
Nobody seem to be touching these Horlicks anymore, so yours truly helped to clear...
I don't mind drinking expired beverage as long as the taste is not 'off'.
Since many years ago, the Horlicks is famous for its slogan 'Ho Ho Horlicks!'
It even came out with 'chewable malt tablet' which is so nice that I keep on wanting to buy.
Somehow, i didn't see it anywhere these days...
Watches
Stranger: May I know what is the time now?
Me: ermm….6:19....nope 6:14
 Do you wear a watch?
I did but that was a long time ago, during my student years.
 I have some cheapskate watches which I wear to school and most of them are easily 'kaputt'
It was adjusted to 5 minutes earlier than the actual time, hence during the exam time, it would gave me the perception that I don't have much time left to finish off the answers when I still have 5 minutes left.
Anyway, the remaining time is used as a buffer to 'final check' my answer sheet.
After having a handphone, I no longer wear a watch coz I felt uneasy having something tied to my wrist, especially when the weather is hot and my wrist is sticky from the sweat.
Besides, I felt that wearing one attracts unwanted attention, coz someone would pretend to ask me for time and open up a conversation. This happened during my late teens, where a guy did this and followed me for weeks. Back then I was working part time in a shop.
Now back to these watches....obviously both of these are not mine.
They are of the same brand 'Tissot', on the left belongs to sis, and the right belongs to mum. Both are bought separately on different occasion.
Do you wear watches?
Redundant
Following the uncertainties of COVID-19 pandemic, the office CEO foresee that we will be WFH often on every now and then, even after the MCO.
Hence we will be given a broadband plan with the phone (some cheapo machine) which i think would be redundant with my current personal phone (and data plan). But anyhow, that's for work purpose so shouldn't mix with a personal one. We will be using Maxis Business Postpaid 128, which i m not too sure of its coverage at my area, hopefully it is good!
My soon-to-be-work-phone is an Oppo brand, which i have never try before.
It would be my fourth smart phone, though I'm sceptical about its performance compared to my current Samsung S...
TGIF bonus pic: Here's me with my very first smart phone, taken many years ago.
That's how I took the foodie pics for blog/Instagram! manyak serious leh…
Enjoy ur weekend!
Childhood stuffs...
I'm fond of Mamee snacks and used to 'secretly' buy it from the junkfood peddler outside the school. Back then it was only 20 to 30 cents and my fav is always the original flavor. Recently Mamee introduced a limited edition which is the super spicy 'eat at your own risk' version. The packet itself looks 'frightening' as if the snack is poisonous.
The noodle is in black with chili powder sprinkled all over it
It wasn't spicy when i first started it, but as i munched on, it got stronger that got me into tears...Such a torturous snack! Anyway, I did not buy this, it was given by a colleague who is so fanatic on this limited edition - she bought 3 bags (with 6 packets in each bag)!!
On another note, there is some sort of Family Day planned for us, but it got 'cancelled', hence all the soft toys bought for this event has now abandoned in the office leisure area. Well, these are cuddly soft toys, so whenever we are stressed (with work) just go there to cuddle any of them (unfortunately we can't remove the plastic wrapper)~~
So, which is ur fav?
Friday Entertainment - Miss You Much (from the movie '200 Pounds Beauty')
For those who have lived in the 80's, you must have heard of this song by Janet Jackson...
Well, this version of  'Miss You Much' seems much better with stage dance and lightings...plus some comedic 'backstage' mishap.
Btw, this is taken from the movie '200 pounds beauty', a romance + comedy K-movie.
In case u have no idea on what is happening, this scene was about Hanna (the plump girl) who is the ghost singer for Ammy (the foxy-look singer on stage)...but unfortunately the backstage fell coz Hanna was overweight...The manager was quick enuff the fix the situation by asking Ammy to turn (facing back) so that people wouldn't notice that she was 'mute' and distract the audience with fireworks.
The Legend of the Blue Sea - Disgusting Shit!
Well, I just can't get enuff of Lee Min-ho handsome look...lol!
Another scene of him pretending to be a spoilt wealthy heir in fooling the hospital deputy director.
In this scene, he is complaining on the deputy directory's bad breath and ask him not to speak at all~~
He's rocking on a gothic fashion outfit which is so stylish!
The Legend Of The Blue Sea - Being Glam
I have been recently following this k-drama over in iflix and was kinda amused with this comedy+romance+fairytale+mystery drama. It features the good-looking Lee Min-ho and Gianna Jun as the main actor and actress...
Both were really good in acting yet humourous and at some point, looking glam!
This story features Lee Min-ho as a con artist who met a mermaid while on holiday in Spain.
The blunt mermaid 'followed' him back to Seoul and managed to reunite with him but ended up being misused as his con-partner.
Here's a snippet of them in their glamourous outfit while pretending as rich investor to 'bait' a woman as part of their conspiracy to cheat her wealth.
Ordered the same thing again....
Went to get my ramen fix in Bankara Ramen during one fine afternoon.
Flipping thru the menu I thought of wanting to try out something new than what I previously had there....
without realising...I ordered the same thing again...
*I only realised it when checking thru my old blogpost....
Anyway, I did it again...(and having the same regret while eating this, *slap head)
Office Tour
These are pictures taken from all around the office, after the renovation (in 2017).
It used to be a very typical mundane office with monotone colour, but after the renovation the place has became brighter, colourful and lively.
The working space
The pantry in next block with high table and benches.
another angle view to compare the height of the dining table with the nearby working desk height.
and this is a smaller pantry but with no dining table, just some artsy fartsy coffee table/chair & basin made of cylinder tanks.
colorful working area (front view)
(back view)
 and in another block, there is a recreational area with pool table, darts, ping pong table, foosball and couch lounge for u to zZzzzzZZ day dream.
The dart game that I have only played once.
And this pool game that I never play before...coz I m so lousy in it.
Now the main pantry, with proper dining table/chair (instead of higher table/benches or weird tanks)
Those flowers are fake, but better than nothing...at least it 'add colours' to this area...
And below is the old pantry which is so plain-looking.
Back to the cinema after so many years…
The last time I went to the cinema was....8 years ago (I think). It was so long that I am kinda 'jakun' with the modern days' ci...
