Villa Ju Bakery

This is a Korean-style cafĂ© cum bakery which occupies a corner shoplot in the neighbourhood. It looks fancy from the outside but upon googling, there seems to be a lot of negative reviews.
I did not purchase anything from this bakery...but I went in during Christmas to sample free bread/pastries...well, that was 2 years ago when it was newly opened.
The business is still surviving, but the other day when I drop-by to look-see on what they hav in store, there wasn't much variety in their bread/cakes/pastries anymore....however there were still people dining in (for coffee or bingsu I guess!)
meanwhile....I m looking forward to Christmas...coz it is then when most bakeries flaunt their creativity in fancy decorations involving gingerbread, yule log and various cookies!

Bento Formosa (Part 2)

On another visit to the same outlet, I tried out another rice set.
This time I had braised pork belly.
It was good except that there's too much fatty layers….*it reminds me of the 'Tong Po' pork I had in Hangzhou some time ago...
the side dishes were almost the same as my previous visit, which consists of 2 pickled veggies, a few slices of cucumber, a slice of Taiwanese sausage, hard-boiled egg, stir-fried cauliflower with carrots and stir-fried tomatoes with eggs.
It was also served with a bowl of lotus root soup.
Overall not bad for a meal below RM20.

Bento Formosa

Was craving for some Taiwanese minced pork rice, so instead of flying there, it would be more economical to just pop up at this outlet which is just within a few km radius from home...
as usual, this was my b'fast + lunch + dinner all in one meal.
the minced pork rice was flavorful, full of porky-goodness...
although slightly fatty/oily
the side dishes wasn't bad too...2 of these are pickled veggies...which is nice to go with plain rice
I also ordered an ala-carte of tempura fishcake (written as tempura fish ~something~...in the menu), but it wasn't tempura at all.
The texture and taste almost like our fish 'lekor', it's chewable, not too hard not too soft...
taste-wise ok...
This place also serves various Taiwanese dessert and milk tea...so, perhaps would give it a try some time later.

Azur Restaurant, Putrajaya Shangri-La

I just received a news that a project that i'm working on would be postponed for a few more days. Well, that's not a good news as I have expected it to 'end' soon in order to be freed (aka 'merdeka') from all these nuisances. *piss off mode
To cool off and 'calm myself', let me just post some of the foodies I had back in Dec 2016....yea, almost 2 years ago!
One of our dealer from Europe was so generous to treat us lunch...so we had a four course meal in Azur...
*nope, not the restaurant below, that is another restaurant...
ok, this is Azur...the blue carpet is so soothing
the menu, our four course are appetizer, soup, main course and dessert
this picture took from the table I sat
this bun was not part of the four course....this was complimentary while waiting for the meal to start.
the appetizer....salmon something something.....(*pls refer to the menu above)
 soup and garlic bread
my choice of main course -  garlic cod fish
 another view from different angle
 and dessert....yummy!
this lunch costs RM200++ per pax...not sure of the exact price since i'm not the one paying ;-)

Pondok Tempo Doeloe, Kuta, Bali

This was my second time to this restaurant, the first was back in 2015.
It caters for huge group diners, mostly tourist as it has a parking lot dedicated just for the tour buses.
Sumptous FEAST!
among the food we had:
flying fish

some preserved veggie with fish soup...kinda salty
another fish but this one with gravy
 grilled spring chicken...
  gado-gado…
There were about 10 dishes altogether...it was a satisfying meal after the lousy flight meal we had earlier
We occupied a few rows of long tables
There's a menu book at the entrance counter. Being 'kepochi', me and my colleague checking out the price of our dishes...we have no idea if the menu is in USD or SGD, but definitely not IDR

Kuey Teow Th'ng (Clear Soup Kuey Teow Noodles)

This was one of my late lunch after running errands in Endah Parade.
This shop located at the 3rd floor where it sells curry noodles, assam laksa, fried rice and teatime snacks such as toasts...
I wanted to have something 'clear'...so kuey teow th'ng it is...
the soup does look clear, but it is full of prawn flavor. They gave boneless chicken breast for this and a few pieces of shrimps.
Not bad, another satisfying meal at RM6.50

Symphony by Chef Jo

Went for a team lunch @ this restaurant that serves fusion food.
it was a Saturday noon and the DC mall was quiet due to most nearby offices were closed on Saturday.
the restaurant was quiet too, we were the only group of customers throughout the lunchtime.
Here's what I had:
Home Cut Kumara Fries and Grilled Brocolli (sharing with another colleague)
 Swiss 'Roschti' Potato
 Cod Parcel with Black Mussel
New York steak (this was my colleague's order)
There were 12 of us, and we occupied a long table, hence I wasn't able to take pictures of all the foods...*I dun want to annoy my boss
After the lunch, I went to walk around the DC mall...There's nothing much to see there, it is sort of another 'replicate' of Nexus Bangsar South/The Sphere/Intermark which mainly caters for office workers with some high end and casual dining restaurants.
Outside the restaurant, you can clearly see the 'Menara Millennium' building where I used to work at some 10 years ago. Back then, the DC mall was not built yet.

Warakuya Smoked Duck Ramen

Back at Warakuya for some Japanese food fix. I had Japanese mashed potato (RM8.90++) There are thinly sliced cucumbers hidden beneath....fou...
