A wedding & A Funeral

A recap of hips and happenins' over the past 3 months...

June - Hong Kong
I can't deny that the nite view here is indeed amazing. Tis 'glittering' LV shop in Central was screaming 'step in! pls step in!'
How can i resist it??? The below pic was shot from above a topless bus (to be exact, it was bus no:15C)
Nope, i did not buy any LV bags, regrets!
Will i be there again, perhaps in a biz trip?

July - Feasting Month!
All thanks to the promotion, not only it covered dim sum, but lunch & dinner were also included.
We hav been visiting tis place more than often...til we can't take it anymore!
Food was pretty mediocre, but at least the place was less chaotic as in dai-pai-dong (stalls).
The meal was simple, as above, clockwise from top left (beancurd 'swimming' in thick gravy, roast duck, lettuce in oyster sauce, and ginger chicken).

Presentation: Rate 3/5, Taste: Rate 2/5.

August - A wedding & A Funeral
Nope, they were not related to the same party. It was on 2 close relatives, and it happened just one week apart! Thank God they didn't clash!

The wedding
Where: St Ignatius Church, Damansara.
When: 8 August 09.
Unfortunately i wasn't able to witness this historic event, was stuck somewhere for a team building! Anyhow, congrats to my luvly cousin sis - Melissa!

The funeral
Where: Gospel Hall, KL.
When: 15 August 09.
I thought I wouldn't mourn over her loss, but nope, I almost broke down seeing her fragile body lying in the coffin. My aunt must have suffered alot during these 2 years aft being diagnosed with colon carcinoma. Being single, she enjoyed goin around places not until she fell sick. I was indeed grateful to her for attending my convocation (sometime ago). May her soul rest in peace, amen!

Tiara Beach Resort

Last weekend was spent at this so called beach resort. As mentioned in my previous post, the place was totally uninteresting @ all. This place isn't those typical beach resort where you'll see chalet covered within the lush greenery. In fact, the appearance itself doesn't reflect one. I would have mistaken it as a residential apartment.
Anyhow, I was well fed, with 6 meals a day! (breakfast, morning teabreak, lunch, evening teabreak, dinner and supper) Imagine how full we were! Nevertheless all those food got digested quite fast as the activities were so jam-packed and need lotsa lotsa...ENERGY.
Yepz, indeed i was left with lil' ample time for exploring around as the only leisure time we had was at nite, after 10.

What i did aft then?
As usual, like any other blogger would do, snap pics!

Water fountain in front of the main entrance
Main entrancethe stairs to no where
Dinner place - coffee house
The red carpet to welcome us, dream on! This wasn't for us.
Pedestrian walkway
This place isn't huge, but the signboard comes to aid in case u got lost!
The outdoor stage. There were performances at nite to kill ur boredom!
But, the bike shop was closed...why? why? WHY???
thought of cycling out to beach...dissappointed!
Wondering why do I end up @ tis place?
U guess!
The agendas:
*bore us with some crappy seminars.
*exhaust us with lousy outdoor activities.
My entire body aches after then, to the extent that i couldn't even lift my arm!
Convention hall lobby
Our seminar room
supper!
Plenty of leftovers as many of us were too full for supper!

My verdict:
Overall, how's the place?
If it weren't for the team building, i wouldn't have step my foot in it.

Cheapskate Studio Apartment

The cabinets, drawers, and cupboards..Do i really need that much to store my luggage???
The living area
Wooden armchair, 'balinese' style...
not too gross yet, this is the washroom, with shower next to the toilet bowl...
nite view with dim lights, and my bed @ the background...

nothing much to tell abt tis place...cuz it was way too boring...

the room was plain...the wooden chair was hard...

the only thing i can endure is the bed.

Dim Sum

Dim Sum had been one of my fav brunch options. Years ago, ma took granny and us (sis & I) for yum cha. It's now my turn to take ma for the same - the yum cha session.
It has been regular these days as i hav plenty of time to kill, hav big appetite the nearby Chinese restaurant is having its promotion;-)
So, off we went, enjoying our chinese tea and fav piece...of succulent juicy Dim Sum!
We ordered a few trays, mostly dumplings with shrimps, porks, shark fins, and a few local delicacies, such as fried carrot cake. My fav!

The menu

Pork & shrimp dumplings with sort of spicy sauce (a closer shot at below) - pretty much like shrimp dumpling, except that this came with the sauce!

My favorite fried carrot cake! It was so 'flavorful'...ich liebe es! Lo mai kai (Glutinous Rice with chicken & pork). This one failed! The rice was sticky and too oily! Besides chicken, the ingredient includes pork, waxed pork sausage (lap cheong), and shiitake mushroom. Again, another type of shrimp dumpling. Apart from its mundane pork fillings, the outer skin layer was too thick and sticky! not a good recommendation...
Shark fins dumpling. I love these! Sorry for the sharks...
siu mai
Steamed pork wrapped in lettuce - the lettuce was fresh but the sauce was too salty and it doesn't blend well with the stuffings in it! a closer view
After all this fattening food, how to lose fat leh???

gotta refrain myself from taking pork in the next few days!

bon appetit!

One Fine Evening

I took a visit to the garden which i had long abandoned...And saw some freshie edible plants...I dun grow them, pa did, and i'm looking forward to munch them!
tapioca leaves...this would be enuff for one meal - i want it stir-fried with
belacan!
the spring onions...how do i utilise them??? these are too much for my bowl
of noodles!
Also, introducing some non-edible new joiners!
u can't eat this, it's merely for decor! Dun u tink the color contour is wonderful?

Dayeh Noodles

Went to try out this beef noodles shop, located opposite the parking lot where the weekly pasar malam (night market) is located. The shop is...
