[Throwback]
Tried Zhang Liang Malatang a few times. It's basically customising your own ingredients by picking the meats/veggies from the display fridge and choose the cooking style (either dry or soup). Ingredients are charged based on their weight. Pay at the counter before they proceed to cook.
First time with tomato soup and noodles.
Nothing special, it's like eating noodles with lotsa ingredients and is cooked fresh on the spot.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
On the second time, tried the dry version with rice.
Price almost same as the first...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Then the 3rd time i tried the dry version again, but don't know why there is gravy, taste like peanut sauce...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Then back to the soupy one....the mala soup also looks creamier....
I only took a few sips. I think they put peanut sauce in the soup as well.
I haven't tried any of the eateries that is this style I think. Mainly because the protein part of ingredients seem difficult to select which things I want. The veges are ok.
Hi Nux, I hope you are doing well 💗
I have never heard of peanut sauce in soup before.
Your photos are lovely. Thank you for sharing.
