Hokkaido Durian Cheesetart & Yoshinoya Fish Katsu Curry Rice again....

Recently the Secret Recipe re-opened in the neighbourhood and I dropped by to see what's in store...
And it now teamed with 'Hokkaido' and operate in the same premise!
i'm a fan of Hokkaido durian cheese tart, hence i bought a box of 3 at a discounted price.
Usual price is RM6.50 per piece (or RM6.60...)
I got each piece at RM5.50 when buying in a box of 3.
So creamy and durianlicious!
Enjoyed the durian cheese tarts over the weekend and skipped lunch...
And then I had this for dinner....
Another sinful meal
Then come Monday, my colleague 'ajak' me for lunch, and this was what I had
fish katsu curry rice!!!
once tried forever hooked...it seems like I only order this each time I went to Yoshinoya.
Itadakimasu!!!

My lunch at a no name shop...

This was one of my regular lunch at a no name shop nearby Hau Kee, Sri Serdang.
This shop sells 'chap fan' and has changed ownership multiple times (till i lost count). The current one is also selling 'chap fan' and some fried noodles/rice. It comes with free soup & drink at a reasonable price.
During my first visit, i had this...
Can you guess how much is this?
I would have thought it to be around RM6.5 due to the portion i took.
But surprisingly, it was only RM4.50.
Unbelievable.
I did some calculation and this is what i assumed:
Yong tau foo costs RM1 per piece (hence total is RM3)
Fried noodles is RM1.50 (?)
This seems not right, either the food is spoilt or they are not making any profit from this...
Well, i did not get any symptom of diarrhea the next day, so i guess the food is save for consumption...
Anyway, i have been going there since then (like once per week) for their cheap non-halal 'chap fan'. Hopefully their business lasts....

Hau Kee Little Kitchen, Sri Serdang

This eatery took over 'Aunty Ally' some time ago but the menu stays the same.
I went there for a quick lunch coz parking was easy.
Grabbed a plate of siu mai from the pao steamer (at the shop front) to fill up my stomach while waiting for my order to be prepared.
Just an ordinary siu mai at RM3 per plate
Not long after, my noodles was served...
Yee Mee in plain soup (RM6)
Tastewise ok ler….just another decent lunch.

Carl's Jr Portobello Mushroom Burger

After years of not having Carl's Jr burger, I decided to head in one day when i hav no idea on what to eat.
I was near to 'famine' as i did not hav any food since morning, hence i ordered a 'gigantic' Portobello mushroom burger set meal for RM26.90 (inclusive of tax and service charge).
The fries seems 'skinnier' than last time but still as good. It has some unpeeled potato skin on the edge, so this is definitely real potato fries (instead of some kind of substitute).
The condiments station is still there....where u can top-up unlimited salsa & onions
previously their slogan is 'It's gonna get messy' (or somewhat similar), but seems that it has now changed to 'Eat like you mean it'...
Well, whichever it is....
BON APPETIT!

We spent the entire noon having outdoor team building activities in Bến Tre
After then, time to head back to HCMC....
crossing the Mekong river
some houses on the river
and nearby the river
and then another 45 minutes to head back to the city centre for dinner
it was a Saturday evening and traffic jam everywhere
we had our dinner in Viet Heritage restaurant
 The menu...
Starter - the Vietnamese spring roll
 Another starter - baguette
Dish #1: Deep fried rice cake
Dish #2: Chicken and corn soup
Dish #3: Fried chicken with Kinh Do sauce
Dish #4: Deep fried fish with mango salad
Dish #5: Omelette
Dish #6: Vegetable in oyster sauce
Dish #7: Vegetable soup
some local beers to go with the meal
After our sumptuous dinner, we went for shopping!
We stayed nearby the Ben Thanh market area and there are various shops within the walking distance from our hotel.
the evening traffics....was figuring out how to cross the streets.
anyway, came back safe and in one piece...
here's what I bought
ALL JUNKS!
the postcards for souvenirs
When everyone was asleep, I went to the hotel gym to shed off some calories from the hearty dinner earlier
it was well equipped but there was no air-cond nor fan in there...so stuffy~~~

Fish&Co and The Symphony @ IOI City Mall

Was craving for some fish and chips and hence decided to have my Friday dinner at Fish&Co
Ordered the salted-egg fish and chips to try.
Tastewise not bad.
This meal cost RM29 after service charges and tax.
Since the nite was still young, went for a short stroll to burn off the fats...
And 'discovered' this artsy fartsy staircase outside the building
it is located nearby 'The Symphony' water fountain
Le Meridien hotel is nearby too
There goes my quiet Friday evening enjoying the outdoor view of IOI City Mall.

Brew House, Sri Petaling

I would not have thought that this place serves a decent meal, coz it is a pub

Each time i passed by, i would see people enjoying their cocktails/beers at the outdoor seats...So, i never bother to check it out.
Then one day, someone suggested to have lunch there...
coz the value set lunch is so....'worth-for-money'.
All of us ordered the same thing - chicken chop!
The fries can be replaced with mashed potatoes upon request.
but i opted mine with the default
now, this is why i said it is worth every single cent....
Look at how huge that piece of chicken chop...It is a thick slab of chicken thigh meat and it is tender!
this set meal also comes with:
soup (just normal soup served in those Chinese 'chap fan' stall, not matching at all but it clears the throat!)
vanilla ice-cream
drinks (either Sprite, Coke or iced lemon tea)
i was superbly full after finishing the meal!
