B'day Celebration within the Department

Colleague: "Hey, choose one!"
Me: "huh?"
*kinda overwhelmed with the choices, indecisive me!
and my attention was diverted to the pastries...hehehe!
i prefer pastry over cakes, but now we are in a cake shop, which specialties is cheese cake
and so, i have chosen....the yellow one
turn out to be Mango Cheese cake!
oh okie, fine! at least i have randomly chosen somethin' i hav never tried before...
so, this was somethin' new...
after cutting and distributed to all, there were still a huge pile of leftover...
hence, the b'day boy & gal gets to take-away
woohooo!!!

and i m now waiting patiently for the upcoming celebration organized by company HR, for all december babies!

Alexis, The Gardens

This year I had an extravaganza birthday celebrations...yes, it is with 's'....
coz i had a pre-b'day with my 2 closest colleagues on the 2nd,
then followed by dimsum breakfast & dinner at restaurant with family on the eve...
plus my fav KFC on the actual day...
Not enuff with that, my colleague, having not satisfied with the earlier "preliminary b'day", organized another celebration within the team...hence, this time, the 5 of us went to Alexis @ The Gardens...
and well, while 2 of them were busy choosing cakes, i entertained myself by snappin' their pics!
this place is popular with patrons who are here to savour their infamous pasta
i ordered set lunch, which comes with soup of the day
avocado salad, chicken chop and baked cherry tomatoes
dessert was a slice of banana cake, yummylicious!
it was a very filling meal...
and with such nice ambience and soft cushion, i almost felt asleep after the meal!
but WAIT! i have a meeting to attend rite after lunch :-(
sleepiness? i gotta endure it!
despite the tension around of having to rush back for meeting, i was very satisfied with the meal and the short-escapade to the shoppin' mall
to tell the truth, it has been months since i last been there!

Upnext: B'day celebration with colleagues in the Dept.

Pre-Birthday Celebration

I had my pre-birthday celebration 2 days prior to the actual day. It was kinda simple celebration with 2 of my closest colleague treating me cupcakes and presenting me a card!
And she kept telling me this "If not for the rain, I would have bought someting nicer"...
well, this is much nicer than i have ever expected!
I've chosen white over the rest...
glad to hav some thoughtful colleagues around ;-)

Local Kueh & Ais Kacang

It has been ages since i last had local delicacies...especially Malay & Nyonya kueh.
I finally had the chance of savoring some during last week, in a family occasion. And i got to enjoy it with my fav glass of soya bean milk! It tasted heavenly!
Look at the colorful tempting 'kuehs'...my favorite is the red ones, so-called "ang ku", which is made of green bean. The outer layer (red layer) is so chewy that it blends well with the greenbean paste in it! It has been half a year since i last had one...
and our local ice dessert...Ais Kacang!
the "Gems" were hidden underneath, u jst need to be patient to wait for the ice to melt...
but i already started to enjoy from my first scoop of syrupped ice...not too sweet & not too dull
blended to perfection!
i just wanted MORE!

Al-diafah Restaurant

I used to pass by a row of new shophouses which consists of restaurants serving various type of cuisine - Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Fusion, Indian, Western, Arabic, local food...etc, u named it, they have it!
It's like a food haven for food enthusiasts.
But sad to say, despite a food enthusiast myself, i never hav the chance of dining in any of such restaurant.
My life is busy & hectic...
even on weekend :-(
pathetic huh?
Many occasions, i passed by this super posh Arabic restaurant, gazed into it from their super shiny glass panel, wishing i could try out their food, but i did not make it. It has been 7 years since this restaurant operating in the neighbourhood, and just recently i managed to finally dine in!
Thankfully, if not for my colleague who invited me along to have lunch with the company visitors, I would not have the chance at all, at least for these few years to come...
The interior of this restaurant is...awesome! It has a very "middle-eastern" atmosphere. The ambience is nice, but the food was jst so-so. Maybe it doesn't suit my tastebud???
I prefer Turkish cuisine over Arabic...somehow there is some similarity on the choices, jst that taste-wise slightly differs.
Will I come again?
Mayb "yes" if the company paid for our food!

Beautiful Hanoi

Was in Hanoi between 17-19 November. During my short stay, I managed to capture the beauty of this bustling city...
Minus the dust and noise, this place could be just as beautiful as any European country, as most of the building are "slim","tall" and colorful with French influential.
 The city is highly densed
Not to mentioned the noise polution from the below traffic. It can be heard from the top building. Imagine you can still hear those vehicles honking all day long from your office @ 14th floor!
At the end of the day, u just wanna scream "i want some peace!!!"
Bylooking at the picture alone, it can misled us that this place is peaceful and quiet...but in fact, it is otherwise!
Luckily , the place that i m staying is facing a lake, else i couldn't escape from the bustling noise of the traffic below...
Amazing view outside my room @ Sheraton 15th floor
the lake...
My two-day short trip is not enuff for me to enjoy and venture around the city, and explorin' the variety of buildings...
will i be back again?

Back to the cinema after so many years…

The last time I went to the cinema was....8 years ago (I think). It was so long that I am kinda 'jakun' with the modern days' ci...
