2nd Lousang - with Colleagues @ Xiaolongkan, Mid Valley

The week when we received our bonus, my colleague had booked a table for our 'sau gong' dinner, sort of get-together and to 'celebrate our bonus'😀
I just agreed to join without knowing they are planning for a hotpot (steamboat) meal.
The restaurant is an established Chinese Hotpot franchise from China, someting like Haidilao.
We booked a private room for the 8 of us.
The place is designed like an ancient Chinese shop. Even the ceiling is exquisitely decorated!
we started our meal with....
YEESANG!
this time with salmons....
after then, more starters while we waited for the soups to get heated
Deep fried chicken strips
Deep fried crunchy fish skin
Here's the soup base
3 different flavours - Mala, Tomato and Herbal
and loads of meats...
slices of pork
beef
more pork....
to balance out the meatiness, we also ordered assorted mushrooms
beancurd skin
i think this is jicama
and more veggies (lotus roots, tomatoes, lettuces)
just dump everything into the hotpot
the herbal soup is my fav and mala is the least.
The mala soup is definitely spicy and numbs the tongue...Never ever attempt to drink!
The private room has racks to place the foods that we ordered.
We ordered so much that it needs 3 racks to standby.
more meats, meatballs, some kind of seafood, abalone etc
we eat till food coma!
This meal costs us RM951.20nett inclusive of tax & service charges.
Hence per person is RM118.90.
Definitely over-ordered and overeat😐
After this meal, no more hotpot for me...
Spent almost an hour plus to finish up everything, after then I went for a short stroll at Mid Valley mall.
The decoration for this year is......all red.
By now, all the malls seems the same to me, couldn't differentiate already, coz mostly are red lanterns, bamboos, lion heads, tiger statues, some red kiosks...etc etc

  1. Wah, so much food! This must be a new Restaurant. I think it is almost one whole year that I didn't step into Midvalley mall n gardens mall. Did you all finish all the food? Got a lot of people in the mall or not?

  2. Just the shot of the ceiling gave me the impression that this place is so posh. That's quite a lot of food even for 8 people but once in a while must sapu kaw kaw!

  3. This year I had yee sang only once. The deep fried chicken strips looks yummy. I prefer herbal soup base. Once a year, its okay to enjoy to the max. At my age, cannot eat much. All red because Chinese like "ang, ang" or "ong, ong".

  5. Ahh I read through slowly and enjoyed all the pictures.

CNY is basically the usual stuff heh. The only thing that'd wow me about Chinese style is scenery/gardens a la Suzhou
