I've been craving for dim sum for quite some time.
My last dim sum dine-in was 2 years ago...even before the 1st MCO.
When i saw this dim sum shop popped-up in Pandabox, i quickly clicked to kepoh....
Pricewise seems reasonable....hence gave it a try~~~
Ordered the following:
Fried carrot cake
quite nice, fried to perfection with juicy & crunchy beansprouts...best eaten warm (though i don't mind having it cold)
Prawn cheong fun
it came with 3 rolls of cheung fun...with fresh bouncy prawns wrapped in it. Soy sauce & chili dip are packed separately.
Yam puff
The dough layer doesn't have much yam taste (couldn't detect at all)....i guess it is just all flour...
the inner filling is not the char siew type...more like minced chicken and is lacking sweetness (which normally comes from char siew)....Not recommended to buy.
This is also the first time i'm seeing yam puff with such fillings😐
Total costs for all the above is RM23.67 inclusive of delivery.
Now that we can dine-in, i shall have my dim sum in a shop soon~~~
2 years? That was long. But good you were able to enjoy dim sum again. The last time I had dim sum was few months ago. Celebrated my girl's birthday in April. Now kind of missing it, but no dine-in over here right now.
ReplyDeleteYum yum!!! Everything looks so good! Can't get nice yam puffs here, no chee cheong fun either...and not sure if they are still selling carrot cake at those one or two places in this Fuzhou town. Missing all of those!
ReplyDeleteRose World: i think i remembered wrongly. I just traced my old blog post and found that my last dimsum was 1 year++ ago which was my office departmental lunch...My mind must have mixed up and think that it is a social company event rather than a proper dim sum dine-in meal...LOL!
ReplyDeleteSuituapui: eh, no chee cheong fun and carrot cake?? these are popular items in dim sum shop over here...aiseh!
Ah, so you tried this place d. Oh, thanks for the review so I now know not to buy the yam puffs. Ah, you will be getting your jab 2 soon and two weeks after that, yay! You can dine in already!
ReplyDeleteTomorrow I will eat Fried Carrot Cake for my lunch. Your photos are very nice and made me drool for it. I might order Pork Ribs and Har Gao. Yums!
ReplyDelete2 years is too long wait and made your cravings come & go.
You just reminded me that next time i can dabao dimsum, long time did not have it, miss it! Maybe i will order sui gao and chicken feet, yums!
ReplyDelete2 years is a long time and I would be craving too. During MCO, I seem to be having dim sum more often than before MCO. Probably because we have one dim sum restaurant very near to our house, plus we are not able to go out all over the places to dine in. The fried carrot cake looks delicious. I love it with lots of beansprout and choy poh.
ReplyDeleteI've also not had dim sum in a while coz it's best eaten hot hot straight off the steamers...lol. One of my favourites is the fried, lightly charred carrot cake (which I see you have 2 orders here) with crunchy beansprouts. ^_~
ReplyDeleteEven your last dim was 1 year plus ago, it's still consider pretty long. I don't have for almost a month, I already keep craving for them. The fried carrot cake look quite decent to me. However as for the yam puff, it does look sad to me cause I'm big fan of yam puff. I also prefer the filling with sweet char siew.
ReplyDeleteThe carrot cake looks the best!
ReplyDeleteI commonly encounter both the dark char siew and light (chicken?) filling for yam puffs. It's the yam I like so not so much preference for the filling
