Lately, fried rice has become a hype....coz of the newly opened Fuiyoh restaurant by Uncle Roger...
then some other people went to compare it with Uncle Soon....
and the social media is all hyped up with fried rice reviews....
So, i might as well jump into the trend😂
nah, just kidding!
It just happened that i craved for fried rice (even before all the hype in social media)
Kawan Place
I went back to Kawan Place for their Kampung fried rice coz i like anchovies, chili and kangkung so much....
I also ordered a plate of fried potato wedges.
It was a weekend, was super hungry after done with some household chores....hence my OMAD is fully carb-loaded...
Total bill came to RM20.70nett
nothing to shout about, just an ordinary meal to fuel up energy and fill up my hungry stomach.

Sun Thai
After done with Malaysian style fried rice...the next day, i went for Thai style fried rice....at Sun Thai restaurant.
Pineapple fried rice😋
I have had pineapple fried rice numerous times in the past but never once served in a pineapple husk, so this is my first encounter of eating fried rice from a pineapple husk.
Decent portion of fried rice with prawns, squid, pineapple cubes and cashew nuts....
Tastes good, although abit pricey at RM20.75 nett....this price can get me a plate of fried rice at Uncle Roger's restaurant in Pavilion....hahaha😂
But then, Uncle Roger once said "if you can't afford a RM18 fried rice then your wallet is weak"
....haiyaa....
Fried rice, paradise hee hee. I recently just had fried rice too in my neighborhood, western grilled chicken chop fried rice with runny egg, it was good and satisfying, full of carbs and protein. I don't mind fried rice at times though most of the times I prefer white steamed rice. OMAD, lol, copycat from who one huh? I can't do that , I must at least have a full satisfying brunch/lunch and a light dinner. Without carbs, I will shiver.
ReplyDeletehah..hah..hah... I love fried rice, those Chinese restaurant style with lots of wok hei. So far I have not tried Uncle Soon although they are at The Starling. Your Pineapple Froed rice looks really good!
ReplyDeleteWho doesn't love fried rice, right? I've had Uncle Soon fried rice and it is indeed good (but note that there'll be different people frying at different places, so not all will taste the same). Compared that to Uncle Roger's fried rice...lol. I've not had Uncle Roger's (expensive) fried rice, so don't know how that stacks up.
ReplyDeleteHahahaha, did he really kutuk people's Wallet as being weak!? Your pineapple fried rice looks very good because I like having cashew nuts.
