Golden China Restaurant @ Rockley, Christchurch, Barbados

My and my colleague did not explore much on the food option as the office is situated quite secluded from any eateries. There is only one miserable cafe which is the nearest eatery that is just across the road - 'The Coffee Bean'. It sells pastries, pasta and wraps besides drinks and beverages.
Well, that's good enough to fill the stomach. On my first visit, I had jerk chicken wrap. The fillings are seasoned boneless chicken breast, some onions, lettuce and tomatoes with wheat burrito wrap. This wrap costs BBD22 (USD11). The pile of yellowish slimy thing on top is mango chutney, which is sweet & sourish like jam.
It was a quick lunch and once done we hurriedly walked back to the office coz the weather is unpredictable, it could be sunny now and then rain cats & dogs the next minute.
[Below] Capturing the sunny moment before the thunderstorm.
*This is the office building but I'm unrelated to PWC.

The skies turn dark after 6pm daily. It feels like 8pm (when it was just 6pm+) when we left the office.
After having a few western meals in the previous days, we both felt 'sienz' with the food, coz they were usually deep fried stuffs or salad, so we ventured out to get something different. Walked to the Rockley Beach where there is a stretch of eateries by the beach. We saw one Chinese restaurant operated by a Chinese boss/chef.
The one who took our order is a local hired by the boss. This eatery doesn't accept credit card, so gotta pay in cash, either in BBD or USD notes.
Total bill: BBD80 (USD40) for 2 pax
We ordered 2 varieties of chop suey.
[Below] Chop suey 1: Stir-fry mixed veggie with some meat/seafood. Very fresh prawns, coz they are from Caribbean sea...lol!
[Below] Chop suey 2: Plain chop suey, just assorted veggies.
Both dishes taste almost the same😂
Nevertheless, good to eat more veggies after consuming all the deep fried foods the previous days.
The chop suey tastes very homely like my mum-cooked dishes, but if by our restaurant standard, this is below par.
well, i m used to my mum's bland dishes, so i'm OK with these😋

  1. The brown gravy for the chop suey, is it Oyster sauce or just soy sauce?
