Room 3218 @ Crockfords Hotel

yepzz...the title says it all....there you go:
but before the 'elaborative' room tour pictures....let me present u a bouquet of roses in a heart shape form💖
that was for V-day i believe...which was just a week away from Chap Goh Mei...
It was still CNY, even the room number plate was decorated with some floral and rabbit-theme CNY decors. A calligraphy was also pasted on the wall next to the door...imagine the effort being done for every room!
Upon entering, you will be amazed by the huge washroom with adjoining toilet & shower.
chandelier lamp, marble wall and floor and mirror glasses creating a huge space effect.
Aplenty towels of different sizes in the rack. There is a weighing scale too.
And this caught my attention...A pouch souvenir!
It has bottles of shampoo, conditioner, lotion and soap for us to bring home...yay!
apart from that....there are also toiletries in one of the drawers
very well equipped!
As for the mini bar....
There is coffee machine with capsules....and complimentary bottles of drinking water
(Below) Read this before consuming anything....apparently, the snacks are free (for first-time upon check-in).  However, this excludes alcoholic beverages. A reload of minibar will be charged after that.
This mean....all of these snacks are FOC😀
as well as these canned/bottled drinks
Took them out to identify the non-alcoholic drinks...can't finish them in one day....so, i 'tapao' back home.
There is also a welcome titbits....pineapple tarts and macaroons....yummmzzz!
and a tray of assorted fruits
we finished the grapes and strawberries.....
tapao-ed orange, apples and pear back home...
We also finished all the titbits...but they got replenished again the very same evening...
and the following day too!
[Below] The replenished titbits...this time we got chocolates instead of macaroons.
Apart from the souvenir pouch and free snacks...
This rabbit plushie is free too!
I brought it back and gave to my friend's daughter.
Yea, it was 'seated' on the bed to welcome us!
I felt so lazy to leave the room with a comfy couch, yummy snacks and a huge screen TV!
[Below] A view of the living area...i like their ceiling height curtains that can be adjusted via touch-screen tablet app. Every switch including room temperature (aircond) & lights are controlled by the touch-screen app installed in the tablet...
Maybe one day they will have AI smart-controls which control the lights & temperature with voice recognition😐
*some people are just lazy and dun even want to touch-screen
~~~~~~
here's the view outside the room....so foggy
~~~~~~
since it was foggy and cloudy outside....i prefer looking at these...
some CNY decors before they take it down the following day.
It was a wonderful stay in Crockfords....hopefully i can get to stay here again for free😀

Weekend Getaway on CNY day-15

[Throwback] It was a long weekend with Monday being the replacement holiday for Thaipusam, so i took the opportunity to go up the hill again....LOL....
This was my final dine-in at Fortune Corner before it ceased operation on 13 Feb.
I usually ordered their chicken rice...despite just so-so only...but at least better than other food options😊
coz other dishes are either too salty, oily or bland...
This restaurant is located nearby the old casino, at the Genting Grand complex.
The old casino interior looks very artistic. Somehow it only opens occasionally due to most people prefer goin to the new one at SkyAvenue complex.
Here's a glimpse of the empty old casino....I got to know that it has closed after CNY day-15, hence this might also be my last visit, unless they re-open again during special occassion...
Look at that ceiling, so extravagant!
~~~~~~~~~
Back to the SkyAvenue complex (shopping mall), the lanterns decorated the main atrium...It was still in CNY atmosphere...
~~~~~~~~~
Meanwhile, it was cloudy outside....cool and moist weather throughout the day.
Here's the view from the room.
~~~~~~~~~
The rabbit mascot in front of Crockford hotel
somewhere outside the hotel entrance...
when it was still CNY, everything is red, even the welcome drink😀
to be continued....
Monday evening after work...
[Throwback] On last month...
I went to the mall for some 'jalan jalan' after work, to kill off Monday blues
Had my dinner at Ah Cheng Laksa....again...
yes i ordered their curry laksa...
and i had Ais Kacang too...Theirs is always served in a big portion!
Total damage: RM23.10 nett
After a stomach full of liquid (from the Ais Kacang) & high calories food....need to digest off by walking around...
The new wing of IOI City Mall is much quieter compared to the old wing.
This is the outdoor corridor facing the park....The ceiling gradually changes its colour...
from purple to dark blue...
then to light blue...
so soothing....
some interesting decoration at the park - a pair of rabbits with glittering lights...and yea, this changes colour too...Such a brilliant idea to combine the CNY + Valentine's theme...year of Rabbit and made them in pair.
Yitcha Kaw Kaw Kopitiam @ Sri Petaling
Recently there is a few kopitiams opened in the neighbourhood, serving almost similar food items such as toasts, light snacks/pastries for breakfast/lunch/teatime, white coffee, noodles etc....
One of it is Yitcha Kaw Kaw which is located right next to Phang Kee dimsum.
Decided to have lunch here after bought some egg tarts and Chinese pastries at their counter.
Late lunch....was so hungry, so i ordered a curry noodles (small) and a bowl of shrimp wanton.
Shrimp wanton with fresh and bouncy shrimps, the soup is full of umami....superlike!
Meanwhile the curry noodle soup is thick and has strong lemongrass taste, very aromatic.
Generous ingredients in the noodles, such as long beans, beansprout, deep fried crispy wanton, cabbages, crispy beancurd skin and lastly hakka pork which is so well marinated and succulent.
Shrimp wanton costs RM7.50 for 5 pieces (in a bowl) and curry noodle costs RM11.90.
There is 10% service charge and 6% taxes applied on top of it.
~~~~~
On another day, i have no idea on what to eat...so back to my default McD mix-and-match,
cheeseburger + fries (RM6.50nett)
and
fried chicken + fries (RM7nett)
i didn't finish all the fries alone, it was shared.
~~~~~
Wanted to compare 2 different egg tarts in RT Bakery, so i bought a box each and mix-and-match myself....I wish they could fit in one type each into the box.
Ordinary egg tarts costs RM5.40 per box (of 2 pieces)
Portuguese egg tarts costs RM6 per box (of 2 pieces)
I personally prefer Portuguese egg tarts coz it is milkier and sweeter, but of course pricier too!
~~~~~
2 weeks ago, the team had a CNY lunch before the Chap Goh Mei (15th day of CNY). We had buffet lunch at Le Meridien Hotel @ Putrajaya...
They have a special counter where patrons can pick the ingredients for lousang....So, there goes our lousang for this year....
~~~~~
On another occasion, I tapao-ed chicken rice from Fortune Corner restaurant (in Genting Highlands) courtesy of the food voucher. Well, this restaurant has called it a day on 13 Feb, so no longer can eat their chicken rice anymore.
Hopefully there will be some better eateries where I could utilise the food voucher when this is gone.
JS Grill @ Seri Kembangan
Continuation of the story about a colleague who lose bet to me for 3rd consecutive time
(see Story1 and Story2 for details)
Anyway, this was the final time before he calls it quit....coz he can't bear being the loser anymore😂
This time we went to....a rooftop restaurant.....to dine while star gazing
wah, so 'lomantic' hor??
Nice ambience, quiet and breezy....except that it was not a Valentine's day...and we are not couple, so don't think too far....
I was here to enjoy the food, with him paying off his 'debt'....
We ordered:
kam heong siput (snail)
kam heong sotong (squid)
claypot lou shi fun (rat tail noodles), a plate of lettuce, grilled salmon fish and grilled lamb skewers.
yes, we are foodies and can chow down alot!
all finished within an hour....not a single food is wasted!
The kam heong squid is my favorite, meanwhile the lamb skewer is tender and doesn't taste gamey. Others are OK, acceptable taste.
The bill came to RM122.50 for 2 pax (inclusive of a pot of tea).
Nice place to dine when the weather is fine.
