Continuation of the previous post (Bangkok Thailand, Day 1)
After refreshing ourselves, we headed out to Siam Square for our first Thai dinner...
Took the skytrain to Siam station, and from there we walked over to Soi 8 where Ban Khun Mae restaurant is located. This restaurant is usually crowded with waiting queue, due to good reviews from the TripAdvisor.
Reached there around 6pm plus and were ushered to the first floor without having to queue. The other tables were quickly filled up after that...
Ban Khun Mae stands for "my mother's house" in Thai and was established by a few chefs who are inspired to serve authentic Thai dishes with home recipes.
Everything seems good on the menu...There are a few signature dishes which never go wrong....
We ordered:
seafood tom yum
seafood tom yum
stir fried morning glory
pandan wrapped chicken
and we also had a refreshing lemongrass drink...

for dessert, we shared a 'tab tim krob' (waterchestnut cubes in coconut milk)...cooling and refreshing, yet not too sweet for our tastebud.
Halfway thru our dinner, a pretty lady dressed in traditional costume came out to perform on an instrument.
She noticed my camera and flashed the sweetest smile....ah....I melted!
Food was great, service was quick with polite staffs. Overall a nice experience dining here and no doubt this place is a popular choice for tourist who would want to taste quality (and above average) Thai dishes.
Love seafood tom yum. Your sister doesn't look annoying, she has a very sweet smile.
