It was a Friday evening and our flight was scheduled at 7pm. Hence, the company granted us half-day leave (absorbed by the company) to leave to the airport earlier.
It was indeed early as the skies still bright after we checked in
so I hung around the departure hall enjoying the sunset and the...
paintings
*some art displayed for charity purpose
Soon after, we had a group photo before we board the flight...
The group was split into 2 flights - either MAS or Vietnam Airlines
I got myself in the Vietnam Airlines coz MAS sucks! I wanted to try out their flight meal (that's the perks of being the trip organiser!).
Food was much better than MAS, i got rice with chicken dish and blanched veggies
Reached HCMC in 1h 45 min later, which was around 8pm local time.
After leaving the airport, we had a late dinner at a local restaurant before check-in to the hotel.
The local restaurant was not that spacious but enuff to accommodate all of us (around 60 persons).
And it has an impressive décor with paintings and antiques!
Motorcyles used in bygone days
very colonials looking interior
We were late due to the airport custom checks and the evening peak hour traffic jam around HCMC.
The restaurant staffs must have been waiting for us for quite some time already...
The menu, seems like an 8 course meal!
sizzling crepe
sour broth with shrimps
deep fried fish with sweet & sour sauce
braised spare ribs with salt
sauteed vegetables with mushroom
sauteed chicken with capsicum and onion
salads (not in the menu), this belongs to someone who is a gluten-free diner
sweet bean soup (as desserts)
Food was simple, but nice. As most of us already had our meal earlier (during flight) we couldn't take much during the late nite dinner.
I love trying new airline food and service.
ReplyDeleteNice dinner, everything looked delicious.
I have never been on company trips with so many people!

ReplyDeleteRose World: yea, me too.
ReplyDeletePhong Hong: normally we have at least 2 buses to cater the whole group. But it's good that ur company trip is in smaller group coz dun have to wait for so many people when goin around places.
Mun: opppsss...I forgot to mention that this is related to the earlier post, which was back in 2016.
