On the Deepavali day, I went down for the hotel breakfast only to be surprised with this extra spread...
Yes, the Indian sweet delicacies!
so nice of the hotel to arrange this locally made sweets and cakes for its residents, thumbs up!
but well, I know how extremely sweet it was, hence I did not take.
Instead I prefer the savoury food which is my usual hashbrowns, sausages, baked beans, samosas and omelet...
then, it was time to work...again...
Yea, I worked even during the holiday, not in the office but in my room-sweet-room
Dinner was...
I ordered the appetizer, which is the pakhora....consists of fried calamari rings, samosa and fried chicken cubes
luckily I had the pakhoras, else I would die of hunger while waiting for this vegetarian curry to be prepared
it took so long to be served and I did not have my lunch during noon ~~~~
ok, makan time!
after the meal, I laze around, coz was so reluctant to get back to the room...
so, took picture here and there...
It was fun seeing those working-class expats/occupants doing their job in the hotel cafeteria, just becoz their offices were closed on Diwali day...
yea, I was one of them, stucked in the hotel but still gotta work...At least I dun feel alone.
Poor guy sitting at the corner, drinking booze while working on his laptop...
He must be rushing on some work too.
*he was away when I took the below photo

Went exploring the hotel gym....not much of equipment there, only a few treadmills, cycling machines and dumb bells.
the sweets are best shared. I would like to have one bite of each sweet just to have a taste of it. the appetisers you ordered for dinner look tasty. did you put on weight or lose weight when you got back to kl? the food you ate while on this trip looks good.
ReplyDeleteMun: yea, the sweets are best shared. The packet that I got was kept in the fridge and then brought back KL to be shared with my family. Luckily it survived the week-long in the fridge! I put on weight, but now back to normal alrdy.
ReplyDeleteQuite honestly, I don't like Indian sweets, I find them too sweet and too milky.
ReplyDeletePhong Hong: yes, Indian sweets are indeed too milky. That's the reason I dun eat it alone, rather bring back home so I can just have a nibble ;-)
ReplyDeleteI actually love the Indian cakes even though they are very sweet and milky. Just eat them with bitter coffee and so heavenly! Surprisingly their race do not top the sufferers of diabetes in our country. Are you aware?
ReplyDeleteI seldom see any hotels I stayed where they had well equipped gyms with top notch machines. Most of them were very dated or rusty. So long as they have treadmills and bicycles, I would be happy enough.
