There's a newly open eatery in IOI City Mall, and we decided to give it a try....
When I first saw the restaurant sign board, it reminded me of the GOOGLE
don't u think so?
if u look further into the picture above, u will see a 'human-size nyonya statue' stood in the middle....
it was kinda creepy coz it has a weird head, just a black tudung (headscarf) and a blank white face....
other than that, the interior is tastefully designed and well decorated.
the colorful tiffins are attractive and it tempt me to buy one....unfortunately it is not for sale....
Here's the Nyonya laksa....my colleague who had this commented that the noodle is lacking chicken and prawns, but lotsa taupok, and the curry gravy is on the sourish side (due to lime?)
I had the pandan rice with beef rendang....It was good...I like how they presented their food in nyonya chinaware.
the pandan rice meal is RM16.90, after 10% service charge & 6% GST, the price is RM19.70
I think this is similar to the Peranakan Place I have been to in NU Sentral since they have the same colourful sign but no creepy mannequin at the branch in NU Sentral. Food here is quite ok in taste and price is not too high so can visit again.
ReplyDeleteGlad that you enjoyed the pandan rice. I am quite skeptical on nonya restaurants as I was disappointed many times.
ReplyDeleteMun: yea, will try other items when I visit this again...
ReplyDeletePhong Hong: it may not be on par with those in Malacca, but for KL standard consider OK, perhaps some hit-and-miss (like my colleague's nyonya laksa was kinda disappointment).
The next time I ever visit this mall, I will try this Nyonya food which I love very much. The tiffin carriers are great!
