It has been quite some time since I last patronised the "Chicken Rice Shop"...Not that their chicken isn't nice, but I would prefer to have my chicken rice meal at some Chinese stalls that also sells roasted meat...so that I could order a combination of both (greedy me!). Now, back to the story of the "Chicken Rice Shop"...I can't really remember how their chicken tasted, but my last experience wasn't a nice one (slow services and the meal doesn't impress me much). Anyway, everyone deserves a second chance, rite? Thus, this time I decided to drop by to hav their set meal, and ordered their lunch promo which consists of the following items in the pics (lazy type on each of them....a pic worth a thousand words...haha!)
such a huge combo...perfectly fits someone who is famine hungry...
this combo is more like Ipoh beansprout chicken set...and I like their big fat juicy beansprout very mch!
the below is braised beancurd and egg...Normally the Chinese would braised it with some herbs...but for this place that caters to other races, they would hav omit that 'herbs' to suit everyone's taste.
This tasted bland due to the missing ingredient.
The chicken is surprisingly good....they have improved over the time...or perhaps I m not ordering roasted chicken (which previously I dun enjoy eating)
The set is inclusive of drinks (soy bean milk) and soup as well.
Bon Appetit!
Same here, I prefer eating chicken rice at chinese stalls so that I can order white chicken, siew yok and chicken liver (kai yun).. But my sister always eat at TCRS, she says nice..
ReplyDeleteThese franchise chains are halal so I also need to eat at the usual coffee shops for the added meat and livers.
ReplyDeleteIlike their kerabu mango
ReplyDeleteI been once before only, in their 1U outlet, ages ago. Then ah, some girls mentioned "Yer, that guy bring me to The Chicken Rice Shop for first date, so cheap that guy!!", then someone I been programmed to think that is a place to avoid LOL! XD
ReplyDeletePrincess Ribbon: i like siew yok but not chicken liver (or whatsoever internal organs)....
ReplyDeleteTwilight Man: haha...pork is a must to go with chicken!
Small Kucing: i haven't try their kerabu mango before, mayb next time ;-)
RealGunners: TCRS is for suitable for family dining..if wanna go 'paktor' or dating meal, go somewhere more romantic la....
I have eaten at this chain a lot time ago. Your combo dish looks tasty enough. I like to eat those braised tofu and egg with or without herbs.
