Brewmaster Value Lunch Set

Tried the Brewmaster restaurant for the first time. It is actually a restaurant cum bar which opens from 11:30am till midnite 1am.
This type of restaurant cum bar is typically quiet during the day, so they offer value lunch sets to attract customers.
There are 6 items in the value lunch set menu which includes drinks (Coke or Sprite).
Peri-peri chicken chop
Carbonara with bacon and mushrooms
Classic rosemary pork chop
Aglio olio with smoke duck
Thomas fried chicken and
Claypot luncheon meat fried rice
Guess which one i ordered?
A big slab of chicken chop doused with peri-peri sauce. Mashed potatoes and assorted veggies as sides.
Chicken is tender although some parts are undercook. I cut out the undercook part and put it aside, then remarked to the staff to inform the chef to cook longer next time. No big fuss.
RM16.80++ per set, which comes to RM19.50 nett after tax and service charges.

It had been a while since my last visit to Ah Muk Cha Chaan Teng. My previous tomato soup was so diluted I vowed never to order it again, but a few months later, the craving returned, so I decided to give it another try.
It hadn't improved significantly, but I'll settle for it until I find a better one.

Here are my CNY snacks 'collection'....
ok, not really a collection coz i've already finished some by now😂
I have arrowhead chips, assorted nuts and pineapple tarts....ong lai! ong lai!
also, some flavored cashew nuts and macadamia....
salted egg fish skin chips, tomyum peanuts....
the colorful card is an 'angpow' gift from McD Prosperity Burger set....i got a free sundae cone to redeem in my next purchase (on any item).
Till then, Happy Chinese New Year

Warung Nismilan Sotong Berlambak, Serdang

Lunch date with an ex-colleague/office lunchmate at this secluded stall in Serdang. It is located within the UPM campus area. Both of us did not know of this place although it is located nearby our previous office....
She only got to know about it when it went viral in social media, otherwise this stall would only be patronized by nearby residents or campus staffs/students.
We ordered a nasi kukus sotong berlambak each.
RM25 nett per plate.
Huge pile of crispy deep-fried squid/calamari served with rice doused in curry.
Cucumber and chili dip come with the rice.
Tastes alright, nothing to shout about. Just like those deep-fried calamari that you can find in Chinese 'dai chow'....but of course this one is super huge portion for 1 pax. Chew until my jaw got tired😂
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
[Below] My typical work-from-home tapao lunch/dinner.
Bought this from HoChiak mixed rice shop...This is the cheapest I had so far....RM5.50
hence i took a picture for remembrance😂
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When I wanted to have rice and dishes in a clean and fancy setting, I went to House of Pok instead.
The below dishes are Hakka braised pork with wood ear
and
mapo tofu
Side dishes in the saucer are crispy deep fried fuchuk and pickled cucumber/carrot slices. During weekday, the set meal comes with Chinese tea.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Chicken drumstick rice with blanched beansprout at the car park stall nearby/next to the neighborhood Telekom building.
Tastes OK with reasonable price. RM7 for chicken drumstick rice + RM2 for beansprout. I like how they deboned the drumstick, hence every piece is boneless.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Nam Heong breakfast promo menu. I had nasi lemak and plain kuey teow in soup.
Both tastes alright. The nasi lemak has a few pieces of lap cheong.
RM4.90+ for each bowl, hence totaled to RM10.80 nett after service charge.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As usual, I had my yearly McD Prosperity burger set meal. I customized the burger with extra onion (without extra charge). Also, add-on a piece of spicy fried chicken for RM5.50
Total bill came to RM23.40
My kinda happy meal😋
Salted Egg Chicken Chop
Zok Noodles
I tried the salted egg chicken chop rice from Zok Noodles. All the while I thought they only have noodles in the menu but I realised they also serve rice set.
The rice is hidden beneath the fried egg. Huge slab of deep-fried chicken chop. Salted egg sauce is thick and gooey, nice to eat with rice. I think the fried egg is not necessary, but good for extra protein.
Taste OK and quite filling. I will order this again in the near future.
Good Morning Cafe
I hardly eat rat-tail noodles (aka lou shi fun) coz seldom cook this at home. So, whenever I see it on the menu (while dining out), I would definitely not miss it.
This is dry-type (kon lou) lou shi fun with minced pork, luncheon meat and fried egg....
It came with a small bowl of soup with bok choy and deep fried fuchuk (beancurd skin). I add-on a small bowl of curry potatoes for RM1 coz i like to eat potatoes in curry gravy. This is my kinda comfort food.....all the unhealthy fried stuff and pork😂
Super Kitchen Chili Pan Mee
I enjoy eating crispy fuchuk that I ordered a plate ala-carte to go with my fav chili pan mee.
By default, their chili pan mee are served without the chili flakes. Chili flakes are provided in the jar placed on every table....take as much as you want but consume at your own risk😄
C+ Plus Cafe
Curry wanton noodles with fried chicken pieces (similar to Japanese chicken karaage), fishcakes, crispy fuchuk. Thick and flavorful curry but not spicy at all. Taste good and will order this again.
Bai Wei Minibowl
Tried the sambal fried rice from Bai Wei (somewhere RM5 or 6) and paired it with green amaranth with century egg (RM4), to balance out the flavor.
Not bad, just a simple meatless meal that's enough to fill the stomach😋
