My 5th dine out (after MCO) is at a zhap fan shop in Seri Kembangan. It is a newly opened place which only sells zhap fan (mixed rice) with free refillable soup and Chinese tea. The place is bright, clean and has good ventilation (with aircond and fans). It practices social distancing too with only one third of the tables are taken/occupied. Others are stacked aside or crossed.
There are a lot of dishes available and I was indecisive on what to pick.
Ended up with 2 oink oink dishes and sautéed long beans.
The oink oink dishes are: Hakka pork belly with ear fungus and minced pork.
Clearly, I missed eating pork so much!
My 6th dine out is at KFC Kuchai Lama with my parents. It was our first dine out together coz all the while they have been eating from ta-pao or homecooked food at home.
We had just done with our errands in Taman Desa, hence while on our way back home, stopped by this KFC outlet for lunch.
each patron is given a dine-in card before allowed to get in. We also need to register via My Sejahtera app and have our temperature taken.
The entire restaurant (despite its huge space) can roughly accommodate 10 to 15 tables only after some tables being stacked aside.
Even with that, some seats are crossed within the 'available table', which means the restaurant capacity has reduced by more than 70%
3 of us occupied a '2 combined tables' with alternate seats crossed. These tables can accomodate10 people during the pre-MCO days.
We each have a lunch plate set with drinks at RM15.50 per set.
The chicken size seems to have shrunk coz we remembered that this outlet usually served huge chicken piece.
While passing by the counter when exiting from the side door, we kepoh-kepoh on the other offers/promotions.
This one seems like a valuable set with 8 pcs of chickens and 4 bowls of rice for only RM33.90 nett.
I ate out Saturday night at Chili's and since the restaurant capacity is reduced, we had to wait for some time before getting a table. I feel like going for chap fan one of these days. Tired of the food at the food court.
ReplyDeleteYour mom doesn't cook pork dishes at home is it? So that's why you miss pork dishes? Surprised to know that your mother is ok to eat kfc. Thought she does not approve of you ordering kfc to eat at home during mco time.
ReplyDeletePH: ooo...I thought there are more food choices in the food court. I wish there is a food court nearby my office so that I can have different type of food rather than Malay/Chinese mixed rice.
ReplyDeleteMun: she seldom cook pork dishes. Even so, it will all be lean meat. No syiok at all. She is OK with eating KFC once in a while.
I like Hakka pork belly with ear fungus. Texas' fried chicken are bigger than KFC's.
ReplyDeleteSuddenly you made me crave for pork cuisines as well.
ReplyDeleteNancy Chan: Yes, Texas chicken is consistent with the size. KFC sometimes it depends on which outlet.
ReplyDeleteTekkaus: babi best betul!
I also love having chap fan as can pick our own favourite dishes.. No need to think what to cook for the entire family
ReplyDeleteI love pork and i hv been eating a lot of oink oink recently.
