Tong Pak Fu @ IOI Mall

"Tong Pak Fu" was once a controversial dessert shop as it's spokeperson has spoken badly about our local food while praising & promoting its dessert range.
However, after awhile...the stint has been forgotten and locals started to throng this outlet again, so do i...out of curiousity as it seems like a trend that people here started to get hooked unto such dessert (just like bubble milktea!). So, i just tot "why not i get myself to try it someday?"
And so, here it goes...my first ever Tong Pak Fu experience (not that i haven't tasted any snow ice dessert before?!!) I m wondering why is this outlet so popular...
I got myself a guava flavored snow ice dessert
tasted so-so only...but the shop interior is nice
i like how they blend stricking orange and light green together...
well, if u hav not tasted snow ice dessert before, this might worth a try, else jst forget about it.

Le Meridien, KL Sentral

Le Meridien hotel situated just next door of Hilton KL. I was impressed with its' interior "retro" deco that i can't stop myself from clicking my phone camera everywhere...
I was like "ooohhhh" and "ahhhhh"......as if i never seen such a big "Gallery" of retro furnitures before...This whole place is so classic that i felt like wanting to stay there...Hmmnnn...was tinking why not? since i m a member for this hotel group ;-)
But nevertheless....everything here is VERY VERY IMPRESSIVE! it takes my breath away! kudos to their interior designer for bringing in the retro look!
The lounge and a table for two ;-)
 the bar
here's a closer look at the bar...
the family seating area....i wish to have such couch at home
 dining table?!
 more and more dining tables...
the check-in counters...the wall changes its colour every few seconds
here another private table overlooking the glass panel and some nite scenery outside
 the juice/tea/coffee bar
here's the main waiting lobby area...
 my lazy couch! i wish!
 the overall view

and after a few seconds the wall changes its color to red!
  This place is so posh!

New Year Eve Dinner

Guess what i had for my new year eve?
Not sort of lavish dinner at posh restaurant...
No countdown, no celebration, or watching countdown with family members in front of TV @ home...
but i was stuck in the office...rushin' for some tender and i was eating some rubbish take-away lunch-box that i bought durin' the noon...
despite that...it was one of the best dishes that i ever got from the humble canteen we had...at least i got to have my fav rendang chicken...on the new year eve...
no complaint...no fuss...and i had a satisfying meal alone in the office...
This stuffs may not look appetizing...but well, i m grateful that i hav a proper meal...unlike some parts of the world where food is scarce...
Thank God for the food we have, AMEN!

By now most of the malls are decorated with red-themed CNY (Lunar New Year) decorations with CNY songs blasting from the audiophone...
Even the neighbourhood grocery mart has displayed the goodies for CNY sale
lotsa cookies, snacks for sale...
the local neighbourhood mart is decorated with red cloth, banners of good wishes and blasting CNY songs filled up the air...
it's merry and full of CNY atmosphere!

Birthday Celebration - Part 2

round with family members where mom prepared the Chinese-style Steam Chicken, a sort of the traditional way of b'day celebration. Nothin' much of hoo-haa abt that...
The 3rd round was with department together with a few others who are also Dec babies.
Here's the shared b'day cake bought from Alexis
Side dishes are Rendang chicken with Lemang (glutinous rice), Cucumber, Nasi Impit (glutinous rice cooked with pandan leaves) and Peanut gravy
Here's the Rendang Chicken...my fav dish

Someone bought ice-cream...it has been so long since i last had Magnum ice-cream
this is the mini version of Magnum
and just like any kids party, we hav junk snacks
this was classic...colorful mini biscuit that has been around since my childhood
and i got a b'day card from the dept
with lotsa signatures...from each of my colleague...thanks all!

As i mentioned, there were 4 rounds in total...the 4th celebration was a bigger scale which was organized by the company HR for all dec babies...
and guess what?
my name was called for the special lucky draw...
but...
unfortunately i wasn't present to collect my gift hence it channeled to another lucky person...
but i was still happy coz of the 60 person entitled for the lucky draw, i was the chosen lucky person...the possibility is like 3:60 (0.05!). Still can't believe i was that lucky. I got it last year and this year my name got called again. Perhaps, this year i shall give chance to others?
Oh btw, did i tell u that i also claimed a complimentary b'day movie ticket from GSC?
